Progress update on the fountain

Finally a stretch of good weather and the fellows are making good progress.
All the power and plumbing is in and the cement trucks are scheduled to be here in a few moments to start pouring.

The other day they brought in a tunnel boring machine to go under the blacktop. Seriously neat machine. It could do a tunnel 18" in diameter 600 feet long and put it on target within a few inches. And here are the cement trucks now!

I think they use similar ones for doing gas lines:thumbsup

It figures as soon as I walk back to my office and sit down they would show.
This is from my window as I am sure the workers like it better when I am not standing there watching.

It does seem like it's backwards. All the cement for this part of the project is delivered. Six trucks and there are a bunch of guys doing there thing now to make it look good and to specifications.

They asked me to leave.

What kind of filtration and sanitation are you using???

Spunky 05-08-2013 04:29 PM

Will the fountain have lights that changes colors?

There is a skimmer and a cannister filter system.
The designer said with this system we won't have to treat the water.

Absolutely! There are 7 LED lights that are submerged around the pool. 4 are supposed to illuminate the entire pool and 3 are aimed up into the water streams. The controller allows the lights to be adjusted individually and as a unit. So when Packer season starts we can make it green and gold.

So are there dedicated fountain designers and construction crews or just an architect, concrete crew, plumber, etc.?

I was wondering that as well, seems like a massive job for "just" a fountain.

But I love reading these threads about your factory and seeing the progress Minte, fucking awesome man :thumbsup

The company I hired specializes in commercial fountains. I did the design and they take it from there. All the engineering and contractors for the pumps, lighting, concrete is on them. We have a plant electrician and he is doing the hookups in the building to operate the systems.

The complete set of plans had to be submitted for a local building permit. Monday the landscape team is coming to present their ideas for the the plants and trees, etc. Their company will install everything.

The men finished the base and footing concrete pours last night and it looks great.

I thought 'bama was bad for business?

You know most businesses that get shut down are due to the business owner wasting money on stuff they don't actually need to run their business... Things like fountains ;)

Liberal democrats are bad for business.

It's the good thing about a monarchy. I don't have a board of directors or shareholders I have to please or impress. I do appreciate the sound business advice, but you can rest assured.
We'll be fine.:)

Nothing slows down a construction crew like hearing they are being watched by the client... except maybe strippers.
Tell the foreman if they wont let you watch, you are sending strippers. :1orglaugh

Interesting. I imagine they must have to cover a pretty big geographic area to keep busy.
