Do you eat leftovers?

doesn't seem to matter how good it was when it was first cooked... I can't manage to find anything appealing about eating day old or two day old food.

except pizza of course

Sly_RJ 02-24-2003 03:32 PM

Spaghetti is always good. Make up a big batch and eat it all week.

rooster 02-24-2003 03:32 PM

i made a big batch of speghetti sause and had it for dinner 5 nights in a row

AdultNex 02-24-2003 03:32 PM

I don't like the appeal of it either, but if I'm too lazy to cook food, I just take the leftovers from the fridge.

Leftover seafood pizza for breakfast is delicious...

XxXotic 02-24-2003 03:33 PM

what are leftovers? i usually house everything the 1st night rarely have anything left.

9 of us went through 40lbs of crawfish and 15 lbs of shrimp yesterday. crawfish boils own!

lagwagon 02-24-2003 03:36 PM

PersianKitty 02-24-2003 03:38 PM

I'm with you. I just can handle leftovers, and there are very few exceptions to that...

Sometimes we take all the left overs and fry them up and it actually tastes better then the 1st time we cooked it. I don't mean mix pizza with rice etc... LOL
Just like potatoes, meat, rice etc... It's so yummy :thumbsup

JConway 02-24-2003 03:42 PM

Almost everything is better the second day!!

SetTheWorldonFire 02-24-2003 03:43 PM

yeah, pizza is about the only thing. sometimes when you are starving you will eat anything tho.

421Fill 02-24-2003 03:45 PM

I can't stand leftovers, but my G/F likes 'em. The only thing that I'll eat as a leftover is my homemade chilli. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :)

Cheating crockpot chili

1 lb. ground chuck (less grease)
2 - 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 - 15 oz can diced tomatoes with garlic and onion
2 - 15 oz cans pinto beans or chili beans
1 package of McCormick's Chili Seasoning
1 small onion chopped finely
garlic, chili powder, pepper and salt to taste

Brown the hamburger and onion, drain it. Toss it and everything else in the crockpot. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

Get out the cheddar cheese, onions and crackers!

lEricPl 02-24-2003 04:21 PM

Right now me and my girlfriend are having left over Tacos, Enchiladas and Chicken Casada filling.

These are all home made -- I'm a good cook.

:thumbsup

If you're a half decent cook, then..... yes.

Leftovers are great. Anyone ever order a big whack of chinese food, have leftovers, and the next morning you make an omelette and shove some chicken chow mein or pork flied lice in it? Damn yummy.

Maxpixelz 02-24-2003 04:33 PM

speaking of left overs.

I had an interesting episode at Hooters the other night.
It was late and the only place that was open was Hooters we decided to go there.
I ordered Clams and Chicken salad and ended up spitting my clams out into the bowl and only ate half my salad. It was disgusting food. Now when I asked for the check the waitress asked me why I was wasting food and if she could have it.
Then she took the bowl and put it on her table and started eating it.
I had never seen such a thing before.

KrazieSweets 02-24-2003 04:33 PM

Leftovers are good when i am in the mood for them..and it depends on what it is too

dav555add 02-24-2003 04:37 PM

Lasagnas, nothing beats lasagnas

SCJason 02-24-2003 04:43 PM

Italian food is the only left overs I'll eat. Taste's great the next day !! Damn Now I have to go to Bucca de Beppa's..........

Rocky 02-24-2003 06:56 PM

when i was a child my mother always told me, eat all of your dinner, there are starving children in the world

so now i send all of my leftovers to the starving children of the world

nothing says i care about you and love you more than sending food to the needy

my only regret is not being able to see their precious little faces when they open those packages and start to dig into a delicious meal that has been tainted by maggots, salmonella and other funky bacteria

Same here. :thumbsup It's interesting how many people I've seen take food for granted and waste it.

you are very welcome

did you think it was a nice touch when i added a stomach pump to the package i sent out at Christmas?

KRL 02-24-2003 07:45 PM

I had leftover chicken breast and linguine with clam sauce tonight. Was pretty good. I hate wasting food when I know so many people will eat nothing today.

MandyBlake 02-24-2003 08:15 PM

Yes...a lot of stuff tastes better the second day. All the flavors have a chance to blend.

galleryseek 02-24-2003 08:17 PM

unfortunately i'm a picky eater. i can't stand eating anything cold, that is meant to be hot... like pizza, cold pizza tastes like shit. i'm also wasteful, i dont bring shit home from restaurants either.

I swear I thought I was the only person in the world that made chinese leftover omletts. My wife looks at me like I am insane when I do it.:rainfro

word bro.... I can't eat cold pizza either.... stuff that's supposed to be hot needs to be fucking hot.. lol :thumbsup

Monique Niccole 02-24-2003 08:26 PM

No. You have to be able to cook in the first place to have leftovers. :(

But I will eat Chinese food and pizza the next day.:thumbsup

galleryseek 02-24-2003 08:27 PM

yeah like if you're at someone's house, or a party and they're like "here have some pizza", and your like "ok".. and you find out its cold, so then your forced to suffer through it. ah, such worries of life.

LadyMischief 02-24-2003 08:36 PM

I have a chili recipe with bacon and molasses that would knock your socks off, but that's besides the point. I generally use leftovers to make other dishes. If I have leftover mashed potatoes, I make shepherd's pie, if I have leftover chicken, I make chicken enchiladas (and my recipe is good, it's got roasted portobello mushrooms, etc etc). If I have left over roast or steak, I make chinese noodle soup. Flavour is too good a thing to waste :)

That's fucked. Everybody knows that dishwashers are the only restaurant employees that eat off of the customers dirty plates. The other employees are smart enough to steal it off the line and scarf it in the stock room.

BumpUglyz 02-26-2003 01:03 PM

Ususally get some Chinese food on a friday night and enjoy for breakfast, lunch and dinner saturday and sunday :winkwink:

Butrflied 02-26-2003 01:13 PM

ugh .. I can't stand leftovers .. but I hardly ever finish a whole meal .. so I'm always taking home doggie bags and leaving them in my fridge until they are seriously nasty .. I never had this problem when I had a boyfriend, they always finished my food :)

Fletch XXX 02-26-2003 01:15 PM

i dont eat much, and i dont eat leftovers.

FATPad 02-26-2003 01:16 PM

Love leftovers.

Less cooking.

Cook once, eat for three days.

Tanker 02-26-2003 01:29 PM

only pizza the rest goes in the trash so if any of you that want left overs want mine stop by on any given night you can have them

LMFAO Having spent an extended period of time as a professional chef I can attest to the accuracy fo this statement.:1orglaugh

chodadog 02-26-2003 01:38 PM

I'm eating some leftover pasta right now. Mmmm.

Herb Kornfield 02-26-2003 02:22 PM

depends on the leftover, Chilli HAS to sit for a few days to really get its best taste on. Same with Spaghetti sauce.

Other than that, there really isnt alot that you can save for days, maybe a slice or two of pizza, never the same as when its fresh.
