...anyway, just wanted to suggest those of you looking for cheaper designs to look around harder, looks like these guys dont have too much fantasy to copy other designers' work:

It is still up, his link was bad. But, I am looking at them side by side and although similar it doesn't look like they copied it.
Besides, webinc design is way nicer. Todd should be pissed off not because they copied it, but because they did such a shitty job doing it.

I guess your right, a bad copy. Me and my project manager always look around for people copying, whether it's our designs or someone else. I always like to put these shit heads on front street:)

It's not really a copy. I mean, sure, there are thousands of sites just like both of them out there. Is the similarity there? Sure. Is it is total rip-off? I don't really think so.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Some basic design elements are shared (oval shape, gradient, thumbnails, rounded buttons, right-hand "feature bar") but you can't seriously be claiming that any of those were original on the first site, either. Scroll through the portfolio of any major designer or sponsor and you'll see dozens of sites like that.

The webeinc is design is nicer, anyway. I don't think a less-good copy hurts the original any. There's plenty of people who try to paint like Van Gogh but it doesn't stop his painting from fetching astronomical prices. People know good work when they see it. Besides, the sites don't share content, theme or even a common language.

is there a way of protecting myself ?? no i stand against people that are very angry about our low prices and are scared of loosing their work cause thay charge 5 times more than we for the same work. Let the people decide who and how much will they pay for what ?

I think you're grasping at straws to say that is a 'copy'. There is passing resemblance but that could be said about 90% of the cookie cutter stuff out there.

and I'd hardly call that "the same work".... don't flatter yourself or compare your shit to Webinc's work. It's nowhere near the same calibur.

one more thing i almost forgot , thanx for making sweet designs famous in here :thumbsup , i am sure every sain user in this forum will make hiw own judgement on the matter

i hate when that happens but i try to look at it as a form of flattery so i don't get too pissed off at these unoriginal immitating fucknuts who deserve to die a slow and painful death by disentary. ;)

I'm not takeing sides here but this is what I thought too when I saw these sites....

Ok, let's say that he took inspiration of your design. But to call it a copy. No. One way or another, all those thousands of paysite designs are the same.

They copied the layout completely. It would be like me copying GFY but instead use green instead of yellow, change the title and have a guy slapping his head instead.

The guy used webincs stuff for slightly more than inspiration. If these were automobile designs and not adult sites, that guys site would be over. The only thing thats different is the wording and the photos.

EACH aspects were copied... colors, shapes, and the Location of logo, buttons, text, images etc....

The basic layout is the same, but I wouldn't call it a copy. It's not like he's actually using your graphics. The webinc one is way nicer, but they both look like they have the same layout as 1000 other paysites I've seen.

i was about to talk shit b4 i saw em just because so many designs are similar and rnt copies,

but this one is a copy,

open the 2 sites in 2 windows and click back and forth,

TOTALLY A COPY!

NEXT

There are many features on these designs that are common. I could understand if there was one element of the design that was similar, but it's everything really.

They both use a similar style logo.
They both have the same button style at the bottom of the design.
They both have a featured image to the left, with thumbs running along the bottom.
They're both the same overall shape.
They both have the rainbow effect in the background of the design.
They both have a similar "features list" on the right side of the design.

When you take the above reasons into account, and the fact that they just <i>happen</i> to all occur in the same arrangement, i think the answer is obvious.

And again, the words of the designer himself.
