anyone have a gopro 3 black?
 

Want one bad, but the reviews are terrible based upon how many just lock up or don't hold charges. Those that do supposedly work great.

I could really use one for a few mainstream projects and want to hear real feedback...

is there a warranty? if so, why does it matter

Because there is easily $2,000 worth of "options" to buy and addons to build, and if it never works right, I don't want to start.

The 30 days money back doesn't not cover the necessary options to even begin to do what I want to do in Phase 1.

There ares some very unique niches that can be interesting and profitable, but I don't want to waste the time if it is a giant waste of time and money. I only have a small seasonal window a years to take advantage of it as well.

i'm with you, the reviews on this are split right down the middle, it either works fantastically or is a complete piece of shit!

The warranty doesn't cover the $6000 production day you lost when the fucking camera goes down. What a stupid question. :2 cents:


I have been wanting to get these too but have heard the same stories. Its too bad. Would be great for some of the scenes we shoot.

There was a thread here a month or so ago with some posters recent experiences. I'd be a nice guy and dig it up but I'm on my cell.

I have a black edition and its wonderful, but took a few manual firmware flashed to become stable.
I love it and use it almost every day, it's hanging under a haxacopter to make aerial footage

I have the Hero 3 black and have had no problems with it all the hero 2 accessories work with it...I love the gopro app on my galaxy tab.


I got the wasabi battery charger for 25 bucks from amazon includes 2 extra batteries a charger that works on ac or on a car outlet its a MUST have at a great price.

Most of the problems people are having are because they didnt RTFM (Read THE FUCKING MANUAL)

I got mine in Jan did the upgrade and it works like a charm

best camera on the market for 400 bucks

so far so good...

Can you post any aerial you shot as well as some more on that rig...

I have yet to upload some videos to YT.

The hexa is a DJI f550 with Wookong M waypoints, aeroxcraft landing gear and aeroxcraft GoPro gimbal with belt drive, Spectrum dx8 with telemetry, ImmersionRC 600mw video TX and a Fat Shark Attitude goggles.
Flies like a charm although a bit short, will try and fix that with extra battery, should give me about 12 mins flight.
