I was born and lived in NJ when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago. The last few times I've been to NYC it's been very very different. I remember when I was a kid going into the city and seeing burnt out shells of cars on the side of the road. If you broke down back then... Your car would be half gone when you got back.
I don't spend much time in LA at all, so I can't comment on that. There was a lot of "homeless" people there, but they never gave us any problems at all really.
We have some in Sacramento. They came out in force for OWS.
