Remember the chicks shot in the truck during the Dorner pursuit?

Those two chicks in the truck that got shot during the Dorner thing.... Settled for $4.2 million. Sounds like a deal to me!

Take two slugs in the back for 4 million? Nope.

Nothing like sweeping all elements of the Dorner case as fast as they can, under the rug.

Now they can retire from delivering newspapers...

Wonder if the white surfer dude will get anything from being shot at by the police during the Dorner manhunt (altho he was not struck by any bullets)

i thought settlements in the states worked out to be 10-20% of the actual won amount?

Lawyers usually take 40% in the U.S. on "spec" cases

Oh HELL NO. lol They are much greedier. I had a surgeon botch a surgery on my neck and cause me nerve damage that has just become progressively worse (and I was told it would keep getting worse by my Doctors, even HIS Doctors), we settled and I walked away with about 10% of my settlement. Wasn't worth my time. (Perhaps it would have if I had taken it to court vs. "settling", but I'm not a litigious person, I just wanted to cover the medical bills, but in the end, I didn't even get enough to do that-- Every year that injury costs me money).. Just an example of how sneaky they can be, I emailed and SPECIFICALLY requested a 4 page medical report from some Fancy Ass Specialist they sent me to. (I made it quite clear which date, which Doctor and that is all I wanted, but NOOOOOOOOO--- they made copies of EVERY single paper EVER involved in my court case (every Doctors Report, Every Deposition, My Physical Therapy Notes... Copies of "You Missed a Call Phone Message Notes, it was RIDIC) and charged me 1500.00 in copy fees. To this day, I still haven't found the few pages I wanted, it's buried in that box somewhere.

yeah I was charged above the 40% for any expenses, 40% was just the attorney's fees

and 40% is what I got unilaterally from personal injury attorneys when I shopped for an attorney after auto accident which was other driver's fault. this wasn't an "oh my neck" situation. I was majorly fucked up, concussion, broken collarbone, skull fracture, broken wrist.

I'm so used to conspiracy theories littering the page that I thought you were going to say they were actors and also at Sandy Point.

Some Guy 04-23-2013 11:11 PM

I hear they were initially only offered a replacement vehicle (the same make and model of the one the police shot up) but they were like, "fuck that!" Smart move on their part. Well, their lawyer's part, I should say.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 04-23-2013 11:36 PM

Phew, that! I thought you were going to post that they were at the Boston Marathon or something. :upsidedow

Anyway, that was an expensive mistake...those ladies should be happy to still be alive:

Margie Carranza, 47, was shot twice in the back and her 71-year-old mother, Emma Hernandez, was cut by broken glass when seven LAPD officers fired at least 100 rounds into their blue Toyota Tacoma pickup as they delivered papers before dawn Feb. 7.
