What new legislation will congress pass because of the bombings?

It has been revealed that another country previously told the FBI to check into the older brother, but they came up with nothing.

I think congress is going to make the argument that Homeland Security should have access to every American's internet activity without a warrant. They will claim that this would have prevented the bombings.

Patriot Act 2

Fetish Gimp 04-19-2013 11:48 PM

No More Backpacks Act.

And I love how you make statements without providing a link to verify it. It has that bunker paranoia je ne sais quoi that makes my dick hard. a/s/l?

It's called CISPA. Congress passed it on Friday. Anonymous calling for black out on 4-22-13.
CISPA looks awful.

Congress shot down the Assault Weapons bill recently, so I'm guessing not much new activity to ban anything for now, besides they're all already fundraising/campaigning for 2014/2016, although I would imagine the DHS and the FBI are going to intensify their activities to root out any other would be terrorists. Not a good time to be a terrorist.

we're at a point that whatever problem there is in society, the government passes things that will do either nothing, or make matters worse. so i don't really feel bad when bills can't get passed. its probably for the best.

purecane 04-20-2013 06:31 AM

Are we all in agreement that the American war machine is running shit? I mean, the corporations pay them to run shit. So who profits from this whole scenario? Think for a minute ......... We the people stay in our homes, consuming. The arms companies don't have to fly all the way to Afghanistan anymore. They can start dropping bombs and shooting up our own country for our safety.

The whole city of Boston shut down to find two guys......next week it will be another city , and then another, and all the while the sheep will be thanking them.

Report abandoned packages or bags in a public place and get the hell away from them! -- that would be a good start. Public awareness.

No army or police force can protect the public 100% from terrorist actions.

y'all are all missing the big deal here.

this is an opportunity to legislate away and ban backwards baseball caps forever!

Laws already exist that can/do prevent a variety of crimes but the enforcement simply isn't there. Passing more and more laws will do nothing but restrict freedoms and make a few people feel all warm and cozy inside. Unfortunately, people enjoy feeling warm and cozy more than seeing actual results, so we get an endless supply of do-nothing laws. Yay.

they'll come together and pass a law on no national registry so that they don't lose their A rating

One guy tries to blow up a plane with a shoe bomb and fails at it = Everyone has to take their shoes off at TSA checkpoints.

More than a dozen school shootings since Columbine = No new legislation.

The Patriot Act hasn't affected the majority of Americans in any way shape or form. It sounded horrible, but then nothing changed for Americans. If the government thinks you are doing something illegal, it will open up an investigation on you - Meaning it will look at your phone records and your Internet. The government doesn't care if you like watching straight men fuck trannies in the ass, but if you have a history of visiting jihad sites they might ask some questions.

I don't think it would be required to take any additional steps to provide information to any entities if the movement of people are tracked correctly .
If they installed an iris scan at every place you can cross a road or checkout / pay for services most problems would be solved

It had caused huge piles of paperwork for most businesses especially if they are involved with financial transactions.
The costs of this is of course passed on to the consumers so everyone is effected regardless if they know it or not.

Yep, the terrorist need to make it so that an A rating from them is just as good as one from the NRA

Obviously Republicans will push a guns for tots bill to make sure pre-schools are safe, but will add a rider to the bill to gives tax breaks for all fertilizer plants and nuclear waste dumps with-in 500ft of a school zone.

Democrats will push for free lunches for the tots, if they turn in their guns and try to give free health care for the illegal immigrants working at the fertilizer plant and nuclear waste dump that is 500 ft away from the schools.

It will be called the anti terrorism protection act.
