Sales: Best Days, Worst Days?
 

After years of doing this - selling wank mateiral over the Internet to horny people - I've noticed there are "good" sales days of the week and "bad" sales days of the week. Have you?

In the "mainstream" world, and this is certainly true with retail/physical stores, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are, traditionally, the worst sales days of the week. Perhaps this is why so many sales take place on those days (ya think?).

For the most part I've noticed Tuesdays and Wednesdays being the worst sales days of the week but with Adult I've also noticed that these "bad" sales days actually move around! Usually it's Tuesdays & Wednesdays that suck but lately I've noticed a "bad" (everything is relative, remember) Thursday, or Sunday, or even Friday or Saturday. Does this happen to you, with your sales?

I know, in the end (of the week, month) it all evens out but it's still frustrating as Hell. I mean, some weeks it feels like I'm only open for business five days a week or six at best! LOL

So I'm wondering if all this floating around from week-to-week is normal and if others notice the same patterns. If the "bad" days were relegated to Tuesdays & Wednesdays only it would actually be easier in terms of marketing and momentum. But never knowing which day(s) will be "bad" from week-to-week makes it tough to plan ahead and strategize options.

The majority of my sites are for sex toys and physical products. I'd say 70% of my sales are done on Fridays and Saturdays.

Best days: 2005 / Worst Days: Last few months. :(

My worst are weekends by far, weekdays are always far better.

It used to be that I could predict it based on the days of the month. Like the first part and the last part would be great with the middle very slow. Now there is no pattern. Only that things tend to be hot for a period of about a week somewhere and then it slows way down.

If everything is "down" - remember, everything is relative - then the natural human instinct is to tread water/stop slipping down the hill. But it gets harder and harder to "maintain" a position if you're not always growing. Such is the nature of commerce and ecommerce especially.

So if everything slows down then the prices for content go down, too. But then it reaches a low where only the few (usually very desperate and unattractive performers) will do it.

Fellucia Blow, ErosExotica and Touch The Body-type content costs a LOT of money to create.

expensive is gonna be porn stars in fancy houses with A list male talent and good crews are gonna be expensive. they are hurting too but still shooting

Historically, 15 years in this business, I can say the same.

It doesn't matter if clip stores or pay sites. Weekends have typically always been weaker than week day for me.

Dude, that content IS shot with film crews, houses, etc. Don't tell ME what it costs because I, unlike you, know EXACTLY what it costs. LOL And content is still being shot BUT at a far less pace, and everyone (pornstars, A List male talent, crews) have either dropped their prices or limited who they're working with to a select few who can still afford the "old" (good) rates.




Weekends are usually good for me, sometimes Sundays are the best day of the week. It's usually the mid-week periods that frustrate me but, as I said in the beginning of this thread, now the "bad" days seem to move around from week-to-week so it's the inconsistency that's annoying as much as the bad days themselves.

It's hard to say, It changes so often. Usually Tuesday and Wednesday are the worst, But the last two weeks I think Wednesday was the best for me.

Mon - Fri are always and have always been better than Sat - Sun. I always assumed dating and cams would do well with weekends, however this is not the case at all (in my experience of course).

Naturally there are some good days, however on average weekdays are a great deal better.

Highest days i've ever had are all weekdays.

I also personally find the second half of the month is better on average than the first half.

Well, apparently Friday was terrible.....LOL

From my experience, I could divide month into 3 x 10 day periods

1st 10 - good
2nd 10 - bad
3rd 10 - good

No frikkin idea why it is so but it always is.
