when there is a relationship between an authority figure like a teacher and a student, there is reason to believe that authority could be being abused. if a teacher comes on to a student, would they face reprisal in the form of bad grades or otherwise if they resist?

teenagers might not know better but authority figures like teachers should know better and if they don't, perhaps they should get a new job. the same problem arises in boss/employee situations. both are adults but one has more power over the other. this should be pretty obvious to anyone.

We never had any teachers even remotely attractive in Ireland. Now maybe, but not at all back in the day.

The truth is I started flirting with her and asking her on dates when I was a sophomore in high school, she started flirting back and did other inappropriate things that got her chewed out by older faculty members.

Most of these situations with female teachers and male students involve the guys going after the woman and then the woman taking it to the next level. I would say that sometimes this is the case with female students if the teacher is young and good looking.

Although I made a crack (hehe crack) about the minimum age of consent, as BlackCrayon stated the authority/power relationship can't be overlooked.

It's not just simply a case of "age is nuthin' but a number", specially in a school environment.
