The better part of a decade with the sheeple of GFY making a new, multiple, threads bitching about tubes daily including endless witch hunts and outting program owners. I see that worked out like a champ in regards to putting the genie back in the bottle, or stopping them to save the industry on the whole.

There was once a time when it did have some real power. This was a long time ago, but at one time many of the big industry players posted here and the site had a lot of weight/credibility.

You can look at the PIB/Porn is Bad situation as an example. The guy that ran that company was outed as cheater who shaved sales. He came on the board to try to defend himself and got tore apart. It didn't take long before the program was shut down.

Back then if a program/company was called out on GFY they normally jumped on right away to defend themselves or at least give their side of the story because they didn't want a bad reputation on the board.

Of course this was before the economy collapsed and tubes took over and many people left the business or just stopped posting as much. It is also before the board was taken over by people just looking for attention and/or conspiracy nuts.

Back then, GFY was made up of webmasters.

like a business promote it, don't like it then make a vote with your traffic and don't send them any, problem is quite a few will take it up the ass from a company and then the minute they launch some new bullshit they are right back promoting the shady bastards :2 cents:

It's tough to fight tubes when it's a b2c driven system. As sad as it is the douchebag mass of Internet users want it, and the play by the rules, albeit rules that are flawed & will, eventually, be changed. Things are changing. It just won't happen overnight.
