What are the best SMS gateway providers for international coverage?

What are your experiences? I'm doing some research and looking for a SMS gateway provider (adult / mainstream) who has a global coverage.

We used clickatell.com back in the day when I ran a public uptime monitoring service. It used to be the cheapest with the easiest API and has been around for a while.

I have been playing with nexmo.com - It's API is easy to use and they have global delivery - I haven't used it in an app but some big players use it.
