Czech webmasters, anyone affected by this?
 

I just heard from my parents that Union Banka filed bankrupcy two days ago. My family will lose a lot in savings - far worse are the 250,000 people who don't have any money right now... supposedly an italian private investers is trying to find more investors and he's negotiating with the government about new conditions to keep it alive.

Any of you Czech folks know any more? :helpme

I went to sezman.cz and novinky.cz but I had trouble getting around...

The bank has been in a bad financial condition for about a year or so. So people had plenty of time to withdraw their money. Plus all acounts are insured so account holder will get 90 percents of their money (25k EUR max.) but only about 100 clients have over 1mil CZK in their accounts.

Well that sucks... But seriously, Union Bank has been bad news for some time.

To je fak na hovno. Ale ajk rikal petr, byla na tom mizerne uz fak dlouho. Mel sem tam taky ucet, ale vsechno sem z nej vybral uz pred pul rokem a zavrel ho. Proc se tu vubec bavite anglicky, kdyz to stejne asi amiky zajimat nebude?

to je urcite pravda. amikum je do toho stejne honvo.

ty vole, doufam ze teda ten italsky clovek najde nejake lidi, ktery by do toho nasipali penize... stratit pres 5Mil korun neni zabava.

pokud mas dobrou ceskou, tak taky ne. drtivou vetsinu ceskych bank vlastni zahranicni banky. snad krome CNB, ale i tady bych ruku do ohne nedaval. :)

This threads learns me again to never put all your eggs in one basket. It are heavy times and with the ongoing down trend of the stock markets more and more financial institutions are getting worse balances, with the risk of bankruptcy.

My wonderful, amazing, incredible, intelligent, clever, resourceful, beautiful, fantastic, super, and generally good wife took all our money out of the Union Bank six months ago.

Wil have to give her some Horki Parek tonight then.

We should shove a Horki Parek up our ass...
