Maserati or Aston Martin?

Thinking of getting a new car - something with 4 seats so you can put stuff on them and go somewhere for a week with the car - so 2 seaters like ferrari 458 is out of the question.

I was thinking Aston DB9 convertible or Maserati grancabrio - both round 200k eur in top configurations.

i like the sound of maserati but inside it looks like 4 year old car, aston is art but not so agressive and loud as maserati and also a bit smaller. bentleys are for old people so no tx.

what do you guys think, some other GT convertibles with 4 seats and exclusive (no mustangs and american crap)?

I friend of mine just sold his quattroporte maserati. He hated it. had a ton of issues with it. dont know about Aston.

I have had a Maserati for over 2 years. i regret getting it. tons of issues. I also have a 2010 CTS V which I now drive more than the Maserati because of all the issues. Love that car. I have a friend who has an Aston and no issues in the same time period. Go with Aston

I'm gonna go with MaseratiXXX on this one:

NETbilling 04-09-2013 10:52 PM

I bought a new 2009 Maserati GT and loved the car but it did have some issues (all warranty covered). I then traded it for a 2011 Cabrio and love it as well with no issues. They ironed everything out and I have a friend with a 2013 an no issues either. The Aston is just too small if you want 4 seats. The Maserati drives and sounds like heaven.

It all comes down to personal taste but I think you can't go wrong with either.

I not also have a 2013 458 which is off the chain amazing to drive.

Good luck, Mitch

M6? 8chars

johnnyloadproductions 04-09-2013 11:41 PM

I'll either go with a Nissan GTR or Corvette Stingray. Former reliability, latter because it's American! like me.

scuba steve 04-09-2013 11:43 PM

See less Astons than maserattis be more fun to have something more unique

Lynx Dollars 04-10-2013 12:28 AM

You would regret either. Huge reliability issues with both.

Mark.Roy 04-10-2013 12:31 AM

if you gotta choose from only those 2s then maserati is your best bet.

ManicaMark 04-10-2013 12:38 AM

Aston aaaall day long. And LynxDollars doesn't know what he's talking about. Astons are very reliable since being taken over by Ford in 2007. If in doubt, watch Top Gear, Clarkson has all the answers you need.

Ad-Min 04-10-2013 12:56 AM

Take the Techart Grand GT (tuned Porsche Panamera Turbo S) 0-60 in 3,8 :

Mike Honcho 04-10-2013 01:09 AM

If you want a daily driver, go with the GTR

If you're looking for something a little slower, but more fancy. Go with the R8

I tend to concur, however, the op is looking for a 4 seater, the second seats in the back are a fucking joke, look pretty, but non functional, unless you are a child :2 cents:

xenigo 04-10-2013 02:55 AM

Here's what I think you should do. The Ferrari F12 is regarded as being pretty much the pinnacle of Ferrari products right now, and since it seems you're looking for the storage of the 4 seat configuration and not the passenger capacity itself... the F12 has you covered.

If you do want the 4 seat configuration, how about the Ferrari FF?

rogueteens 04-10-2013 03:18 AM

You cannot beat an Aston Martin for pure good looks

seeandsee 04-10-2013 03:37 AM

Porsche Carrera is all i want!

mattyboy 04-10-2013 05:00 AM

Nissan GT-R back seats aren't great and you'll have headroom issues for even shorter adults and get a sore head. It will outpace most other cars unless something very exotic.
Reliable tho and gone are 6 month/6000 mile service intervals.

Yea, he pretty much said the same thing. Consistent mechanical issues.

Minte 04-10-2013 07:10 AM

I prefer the Aston over the Maserati but I bought a Panamera. The closest dealers for Aston and Maserati for me is over 100miles, so for a daily driver I passed on them. I know a lot of owners of both brands and they all say the same thing. Be prepared for lots of maintenance.

Test drove the FF. Seemed like a wonderful car, and the new 7year warranty is amazing, but the price is far higher than the Aston.

alex.missyouth 04-10-2013 07:29 AM

I'd go with the Maserati.

JOP 04-10-2013 07:34 AM

what about a porsche panamera?

look at my post above, i told him about the Porsche Panamera from Techart which is called Techart Grand GT.
And i was wrong, this sick machine goes from 0-60 in 3,6 and is a real 4 seat car!

Choopa_Pardo 04-10-2013 07:58 AM

The Panamera is one of the ugliest cars on the market period.

Get the Aston

There's your answer....

NETbilling 04-10-2013 08:47 AM

Sorry - the American cars and japanese cannot touch an Aston or Italian sports car for looks and feel. Sure the GTR is fast and the Corvette is ok but they don't come close to driving the same as a 458 Italia, Lambo etc.

The Maserati has nice sized back seats (biggest in the industry for a GT), engine sound that is amazing and performs well. It is not a raw sports car for pure speed however. I use mine as my daily driver and it is very reliable. The F12 Ferrari is awesome and I will get one but right now you probably have to wait 2 years if you want one.

ShowMe69 04-10-2013 11:36 AM

Aston, no other real choice

At first i thought the same and i still don''t like the back but since i've driven the Turbo S i am most probably one of the biggest fans.
Like Steve said, inside itīs like a spaceship and the acceleration + the max speed for a 4 seat car is unbelievable.
Each of the seats is like the driver seat, you can adjust each of them.
My next car is the Techart Grand GT , perfect family car!

Nydahl 04-10-2013 12:06 PM

Don't be pussy and get Aston :pimp

I wonder how much those leather Italian Ferrari bags are lol probally more than some peoples cars!

Ross 04-10-2013 12:19 PM

Aston Martin, best car I have ever had the pleasure of driving, beats the Lambo Gallardo hands down.

John-ACWM 04-11-2013 09:03 AM

I would choose an Aston.

kristin 04-11-2013 09:34 AM

Aston Martin.

_Richard_ 04-11-2013 09:44 AM

go with DB9

NaughtyRob 04-11-2013 10:24 AM

Italia all the way!!

akkad47 04-11-2013 02:45 PM

Aston ALL THE WAY!!!

There's something about Aston's that just embodies "Class", outside of overall performance, unlike any other car will ever do

livexxx 04-11-2013 02:49 PM

depends on how close the dealership is

Asparaguss 04-11-2013 03:01 PM

I like Maserati's better.

lagwagon 04-11-2013 04:23 PM

No. Shampoo is better! It cleans the hair.

mineistaken 04-11-2013 04:35 PM

How come many of you say "reliability issues"? I mean toyota, nissan, bmw, opel, audi, peugeot can make cars with no or "regular" issues, but brands like aston or maserati can not?

You just took it right out of my mouth! I guess I was a little slow in responding, but I definitely agree with this...

discounts.xxx 04-11-2013 04:41 PM

You should also consider the new Vanquish or the new DB9. They both share their latest VH platform, and both have received positive reviews.

Ultimately, it all depends on personal taste. The Astons aren't full out performance beasts. They are more a mix of class with performance - I also believe they have the perfect formula for a GT car.

NETbilling 04-11-2013 04:48 PM

I spent a week driving both the Maserati and an Aston before I ultimately bought the Maserati back in 09.
