in the "early days" and after the 2011 crash, a lot of people got out as fast as they could, so the people that bought/kept mining by then, could built up a nice stack, since they were given out like candy

Dirty F 04-09-2013 10:08 AM

Let's hope we won't cash that all out tomorrow. Might be a problem haha.

if he dumps the whole stack right now, the price would fall to roughly $35, when you dont include all the orders placed in the orderbook already to buy/sell as certain prices

I will be here with my popcorn to watch it and laugh...

Some people are ignorant and don't understand anything about economics (specially an average adult webmaster), but any PhD has seen this over and over and over again, and it will happen another time.

The chimes are very soothing. When you hear a really low note, it's a big number. Lower the note, lower the number. Higher the note, smaller the number.

LOL, the price of a Bitcoin was less than $250 at this point and now it's about to go past $10,000.

rogueteens 11-27-2017 11:04 AM

Here's the addr that had over 1 billion dollars (in today's value) as a balance:

https://blockchain.info/address/1933...vqCn32k2buXY8a

See all those little deposits? Those are tracers, small amounts which people send to the address, so they can try to associate different addresses with the same wallet. To create a transaction you need the private keys for all funds associated with it, so if a transaction bundles two or more separate addresses together, that means they came from the same wallet.

That address still has a small balance remaining, because of those tracer deposits, even though the balance was cleared out in 2014.

He cashed out $ 1,173,124,772.79 in 2014.

Holy shit!!!!

It wasn't worth nearly as much in 2014, and it could have been some sort of shared fund rather than a single person...

BTW, the tracers I mentioned above are sent by OTHERS, so that OTHER PEOPLE can trace your activity in the blockchain. Bitcoin isn't really that anonymous because it's possible to use analysis to link together different addresses and transactions. Tracers are one way to do it.

Porko 12-01-2017 01:07 PM

its just money.
