WinGate (client) troubles: Anyone else?

I'm getting fucking tired of this shit and I cannot wait to buy a router soon.

On my client pc I can almost everytime only browse a few pages before the wingate engine idles. I have to close my browser windows and refresh wingate, not THAT bad, but sometimes I just cannot get it work at all anymore and the only solution is restarting my pcs, yes, both of them :/

Anybody had this stuff happening as well?

Switch to the router ASAP. I never considered WinGate as an alternative, heard so much shit about it.
I use a Netgear RP 614 router at home, works really good. 4*100mbps with smooth setup.

Yesterday I installed the network using "Internet Connection Sharing" (Windows ME). Some sites aren't loading anymore, I have no idea why it is happening. Sometimes I can access the home/index but can't visit some other pages of the site.

I know this problem all too well... will a router actually fix this? Why would a hub cause this problem and a router would fix it?

Wingate is a piece of shit. Used it for years in corporate sites; never worked. Get a cheap router/firewall like the barricade, works 24x7.

Yep,

wingate was good when there wasn't alot of other choices way back when.

just get a Linksys 1-4 port router and you will be fine.

I have those and a wireless D-link router which works perfect and take 2 min. to setup. DI-614 +

thanks

Also, when I have that router, is it true I can throw Zonealarm out the window as the routers all have a firewall as default protection?
