Shit i had heard the stats not long ago. I believe they claim $5000 per 1,000,000 views but I think it actually turns out to be 1000 to $2500 per million. And that is paid out over time.

I hear its a million till you get paid.
I heard about the same numbers as you you on the lower end.

If your content is original you get paid long before 1 Mill views. Shap was right, 1 MIll views breaks down to 'generally' 2,500. A lot of variables though. Could go much higher.

My best month was 3K... But usually I make around 1K per month with YouTube. I don't put too much time into that campaign, but I have seen people with 10 accounts and around 30 videos in each account, cashing at least 10K per month.

It's a long story to get in track, is not as simple as uploading stuff and wait for the money, there are many tricks and tweaks to increase exposure and, more importantly, to increase the amount of money per click and to get the "skip this" ads that are 5 times more valuable that a simple banner in the bottom.

Haven't made a dime so far - but all I have uploaded is quadcopter vids from my AR drone.

That's good, it seems like the big money makers are basically producing tv shows for youtube. One comedy one I read takes a week to write , rehearse and then shoot. I can see the same with Jenna Marbles, its written not just off the top of her head.

i had foot fetish vids up, plugged in my info for payment, got a 2k check and then the fuckers deleted my account the week after... this was about 2 years ago.

I wonder why?

general youtube ad money is $1 per 1000 views. Advertisers pay shit for CPM on youtube and content makers get shit for ad money too. Need a TON of views to make any $$ there

I have a single vid that has 6m+ views, but since it's not my content I can't really do anything with it. Google has offered...

A young, unknown amateur singer I've been following on YouTube for several years (she has a helluva voice!) has gotten a few of her YT videos up to 8 million views - I like to think she's finally getting some coin for her talent.

Wow views to subscribers is very bad.

Guessing junk videos and monetised views is very low - check you yt dashboard.

Earnings depends on number of monetised views and the types of ads that are displayed for your audience. :thumbsup

1-3 bucks a day... but I only get 1-2k views a day. I have a few music vids up thats it.

I made 5500 Euro in one month. Then adsense closed my account.

Ok, low end here, I am seeing $1/2000, about half what most of you are saying and about 1/10th of what they are saying.

My brother has around 100,000 views for his music videos. Last I heard he made like $250.

My stats are 40% US, but I think one issue is my youtube stuff is "teaser" style and only lasts an average of :33 (33 seconds). That gives a lower metric for "stickiness" because they have <watched all the way through> and <time watching video> as metrics.

It is all original. Only a portion of playbacks are monetized, meanwhile youtube actually claims my CPM is $3.23 - That may be where you are getting the 5.00 CPM but I assure you you will not get that unless you are a giving them 10m hits a month and have a named rep because so many hits are not monetized.

not linking back to a porn site, but some traffic to one of my videos came from a porn site. that was enough reason.
