OK You've Started A New Paysite - Now What? List Your Top 5 Traffic-Generating Steps
For me I go through a series of basic traffic-generating steps to "launch" a new paysite and to continue promoting it over time. Here's my basic 5 steps, what do you do?
1. Load promo tools to Affiliate Program for affiliates 2. Submit promo clips to tube sites 3. Send out mass email to current and former Members 4. Send out Newsletter with Special Offers 5. Submit galleries to several TGPs (paid accounts) (I would also throw in advertising (buy banner spots), link building and Blog creation but I usually wait to see how a site is doing first before investing more time and energy.) What do you do when you're launching you're new paysite? |
I'll tell you in may......

Review sites can be great traffic sources. :) |
A other advice is to post on forum, board, website that target your niche so you can get more follower. Also start a Tumblr where you explain what you do on a daily and post on reddit is subreddit that match your content.

I heard it converts great. :D |
post on all the announcement sections of all webmaster boards and attract new affiliates, email current affiliates assuming its an addition to your network.
Use chameleon submitter for free TGPs aswell as the paid ones you already done, 1 gallery per day for at least 2 weeks, cheap, quick and gets plenty of eyes on the site. |

Now here are some great ideas!! :) I use Chameleon Submitter for tubes but forgot about the TGP version!! Thanks! |
You got almost all the major steps down.
Also try: 1. Offer one-click upgrade trials in your members area 2. if you have an ad-manager like double-click in your members area, use it to upsell from your other sites (if you have a network) 3. contact your existing paysite partners and offer their members a special price 4. if you are entering an established niche, check out who are promoting your competitors, and contact them, asking if they would like to promote you. 5. watermark the shit out of everything. Good, clean watermarks too. Do not underestimate direct sales from your watermark If you take a step back to the planning stages of your new paysite, it is important to follow the blue ocean / steve jobs strategy: either enter a market that is underserved and you can offer something 10X better than your closest competitor, or create a new niche. This can help determine where you should be investing your energy and marketing. For example, extremely niche sites can be highly social, so you would spend more time marketing on reddit, tumblr, twitter, etc, as another GFY member suggested. You also have the advantage of becoming the price leader which is extremely important. At a certain price level, the reward per conversion, is uesless. In other words, on the demand curve, there's no difference between two price points, so why not go for the higher? If you are setting up a new niche, you can dictate pricing. Quote:

1) Grab as many domain names as you can similar to what you are pushing that are available including your domain/niche with proper key words. Like ****videos.com , ****pics.com, whatever... you catch my drift?
2) Plop down Wordpress blogs and start populating it with as much related shit (keywords, samples, etc.) as you can. Give it a few days... Wordpress tends to catch on rather quickly. Mind you, this is prior to launching it to your affiliates. Make sure it's live though, fucking ready for memberships. 3) Monitor traffic and watch conversion ratio if any at all. If you are seeing decent conversion ratios due to it not being "out there" yet? Hang tight. Rinse and repeat step #1/2... now start inter-linking. Grab a couple of virtual accounts from various providers. Make that shit work, it will... 3) Once the SEs grab on and you start to see even miniscule amounts of traffic coming in that are converting? Now is the time to start pushing the small sites that will start converting that shit. Look for small TGPs (reputable, do your research) that are willing to sell spots cheap. Preferably text links, no blind thumbs... they suck. Those days are over and have been for some time. For some reason people still think this works. Send 20k visitors to a thumb and maybe somebody will buy? Nope. Surfers are astute these days and it pisses them off. Honesty wins. 4) Now that you have a solid foundation and you have covered all of your bases, now bring the worker bees into the game (affiliates). These guys will work for you and bring you more traffic. Give them just enough to play with that they can get some hits to your landing page. Not too much. 5:00 videos, no money shots. All tease. Let THEM get it on the Hun (much love bro), but hold off on paid spot. This, mind you is not over months, but a couple of weeks. 5) Where are you now? Gauge your profit/loss and move it from there. Bring the in-house promos hard. Set up your paid ad-spots, hire a kick ass designer to make it happen the way you envision it and make the money you've earned work for you. Nobody wants ANY affiliates, so the object of the game is to make it all for el numero uno... you. That's my $0.02 |

you can also get blog writers whom can post reviews and posts about your niche to help get additional SEO for the site. Do that with new sites and it helps.
