Can someone please explain avs sites?
 

Just wondering how these work and what ,if any, are the drawbacks to paysite owners getting traffic from them.

Basically you make a small site with a few pics and you put your sponsor links in it. If you're looking to get paysite signups you'll be running on traffic from the avs list. Theoretically the traffic to a paysite would be decent because the surfers have already pulled out the credit card once.

The traffic to paysite is decent. But very high quality, because you're sending CC owners, which wants to buy porn to paysite.
