In June 2011 bitcoin worth around 30$, and they fall to 5$ in less than 6 months. So be careful

I'll say this: if serious people came out with a kickass bitcoin system geared for adult niche/webmasters it could become a pretty successful business model. People would use it and it would kick off nicely.
But only if done right (not the half assed way RedPass tried to come out). |

Always find it amusing when morons from places like reddit/etc talk as if there aren't any adult webmasters also browsing those forums, coming up with plans on anon boards/reddit boards that ANYONE CAN READ but acting as if no webmaster would ever read it
Also find it amusing that you'd take anyone seriously that says "the reason most people don't pay for porn (besides simply not wanting to pay) is because they don't want to put it on their card/PayPal." Stopped reading after that. |

people want more anonymity when purchasing porn?
"I would never give a porn site my credit card for this reason. But if they had a good tease and showed a QR code and all I had to do was hold up my smartphone with the wallet app open and push a button... I might":2 cents: |

I think it could be great for some low to mid volume sponsors to get away from all the bullshit in the industry from the processors and the CC companies. No more scrubbing. No more messages from CCbill to your customers telling them to call in about their triple anal paysite membership. It could be great for affiliates too who are not dependent on sponsor content. Traditional affiliate paysite revenues are way down to the point where in many cases you could probably make more from donations or going to a membership model yourself or some sort of micro-transactions. Fuck sending 5,000 uniques to a sponsor (who has leaks, is shaving, on a scrubbing processor, etc) to make $12.95 in commission. Hell, it's conceivable that bitcoins could even change the cam game. Why should models keep partnering with cam sites when they can buy a solution somewhere (or pay a small cut) and start accepting bitcoins? Especially if they know how to bring in their own customers. Instead of making 30-50% they would now get 90% and would retain control. The problem is there are many people who will lose billions due to bitcoins if they catch on. This is why it's almost certain that the government will be called in to create problems. :( |

The concept is good, great idea if it takes off in a big way. Another reason that no one has mentioned as to why a lot of people no longer pay for porn is because they've been burnt in the past from the card banging sponsors. God knows what those numbers are, easily in the millions if not 10s of millions of customers burnt. Anonymous one off payment system could help change that. Mind you other things would help like if webmasters would wake the fuck up and stop charging $25 - $30 per month for a porn membership. If Netflix is charging $7.99 per month for unlimited access to Movies & TV Shows that's a big ass clue as to where porn membership prices should be at currently :2 cents: |
