Why put someone on your ICQ list?
 

Just been going through my ICQ list deleting people.

The thing is there were dozens of people I have never met, spoken to, Emailed, joined my site or been in contact with me in any way (so far as I can see) except asked to go onto my list and I've added them to mine.

And then nothing, I ended up with a list of 200 people of which 150 have never "Chatted" with me or visa versa.

So can anyone here tell me why people do it? Why add someone to your list and then not contact them, you can always contact them if you need to.

Yeah, I did the same thing... and wondered the same thing too.

I deleted most of my list a few weeks ago.

I dont put anybody on my list, that I'm not going to talk to.. Show me that your special, and just maybe, if I'm in a good mood, I will add you... If not...don't bother me :evil-laug

i finally got my list down to 400 ppl seems the bigger my list was
the more icq was playing up !

It's kind of like an Address Book. They're there for when you want to call or contact them, but most of the time it's filled with a lot of names and numbers you don't use much.

aw come on, you know you love receiving those icq's that say ...

hi, can't remember why i added you, my name is ______(some pimp), and maybe you'll want to buy_______(some shit) .

When I get requests from those I dont know that add me, I just send them a hello, Never know when the stranger that you just met could be your best friend down the road.

I have about 350 people on my list, but I've spoken to at least everyone once. I delete people now and then, but for the most part my list stays huge and useful.

I get about 10x as much work done when my instant messanger programs are CLOSED. :)

I get about 10x as much work done when i can talk to all the people i know and when my list is as long as possible so that i can contact someone who can help me out with something. Having many contacts and relations is the best way to do bussiness.:winkwink:

I had 400 people on my icq list but have done the same thing as you charly and cleaned the "trash" out. :D

Make it much easier to chat to people now. Before I has to ask them who they where and why they are on my icq list. Most didn't even know. Kind of spooky. :Graucho
