Top three favorite albums?
 

I've been in an even more music centric zone than normal lately and going back and listening to albums I have collected as favorites over the years.

What are your top three favorite albums?

I think mine would boil down to:

Automatic For The People - R.E.M.
Without You I'm Nothing - Placebo
Music For The Masses - Depeche Mode

be hard to name... I really like Glen Gould's Bach piano , Stravinsky, Alex North, I really like country music, and love the hell out of 50's Frank...then there's mid 60's to early 70's rock and modern punk and stuff....

oh, you mean albums, literally? no CDs?

cuz currently, the frank ocean CD is excellent, lot's of great tracks, it's in my current top 3.

I mean an album in the sense of a collection of songs meant to be played in a particular order regardless of the delivery format.

Also, I miss the top tens we used to do.

You've given me a lot to think about, given my age and also my duration working in the music industry several years back!

Album as in I like to sit and listen to the whole thing start to finish.
It's old as dirt but Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon.

I have Green Day tickets for next month and none of my local concert buddies want to go. They all fail.

I've always liked rem's newer albums more, but there is gold on all of them that is for sure.

been listening to van halen 1 recently, that plays front to back most excellently, not sure if it was geared to be played that way though. but it flows.

pink floyd really is impressive to me, i didn't realize until recently how early in rock history they got started, 1964, if i recall correctly, that's right along side the beatles and the who.

and they were so far out there.

Yeah, they have restarted the tour because he got out and they added LA dates which hadn't been there before.

A CD is an album. Originally they were produced on vinyl, later on DVDs, and now entirely digital.

Well, the first LP I ever bought is still great. Eagles - Eagles Greatest Hits.
Another good one is of course Ozzy - Blizzard of Oz.
And a third is Rush - Exit Stage Left.

it would be very hard for me to not include rush a farewell to kings.

Funny I just listened to Music for the masses today in my car. Such a great one. I also love New Order Substance, definitely in my top 5.

It all depends on the mood as well. Right now I'm listening to Air, Charlotte Gainsbourgh, Radiohead, New Order, Massive Attack and Bowie, all mixed in a collection of songs I build depending on the mood. This is the "relaxed for creative work" mood mix
