This seems like creative spam, but it's a valid question so I'll give a valid answer :)

With the hundreds of affiliate programs out there right now anything positive you can do to make your program stand out even a little is probably worth doing. Many sponsors offer a referral bonus or a percentage to one tier deep, so three tiers sets you a bit out and above.
