As a Manning fan … I'm loving it.

"Welker's five 100-catch seasons are the most in the NFL. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his past five seasons and was an All-Pro four of the past five years"

.

Pats signed Amendola from the Rams. He is a very good young WR who can also return kicks, but seems to have a little trouble staying healthy.

As a Raider fan it is a sad day to see Manning now with the best slot WR in the game.

Welker is a product of the system he played in which is why he didn't do shit as a Dolphin and the patriots let him go. The Patriots will make it further in the playoffs than the Broncos next season.

He'll excel under the Manning scheme. The best slot receiver in the league with the best short pass QB in the league. Not to mention having Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker on the field will stretch defenses allowing Welker more room on the inside to what he does best.

Welker's always dropping the ball on important plays. The guy fucking chokes just like Manning. They are perfect for each other :1orglaugh

He is good in the slot for Manning to dump the ball to and he will get his YAC. His downside is he is not a TD guy. I would take Amendola in fantasy league over Welker. All that said NE had the money to keep him..wonder what went down behind the curtian

This saw this on CNN.com

Manning does love his slot! (Brandon Stokeley)

There has been bitterness between Welker and the Patriots for a few years. He wanted a big contract extension in the past and they strung him along then hit him with the franchise tag. It is how they work there. If you are not named Brady, they won't pay you the big dollars. You can't argue with the success they have had, but I know some guys end up leaving there a little bitter and looking for more money.

This is the perfect situation for Welker. He gets paid and he is on a team that is a legit Super Bowl contender.

But that is the dark side of the business of football. All teams do it to some degree, Bill Walsh was a notorious for a what have you done for me lately rooster.. and yet they won. Gotta wonder if this isn't some back lash over the 'dropped' (not over thrown) ball from the previous SB? As a Raider fan are you happy with RM moves thus far? I think you may see Greg Jennings signed and him trading down with SF for more picks. a first and two seconds and more picks next year.

I kind of have a feeling Welker just isn't happy in NE and the dropped passes didn't help the situation. I have a feeling had NE offered him the same money he would have still left.

So far I think RM has done a pretty good job so far with the Raiders. Al Davis had the team so messed up salary cap wise it might take a few more years to finally get things straight, but it looks like they are starting to put together a core group of players that they can build off of. It will also be interesting to see if Pryor really is the QB of the future or if they are going to have to have to go out and get someone else. I think Palmer is a good QB, but I think, at his age, he is more of a placeholder kind of guy.

To be honest I hope they don't sign Greg Jennings. He is very good, but he is going to be expensive and the team has a solid core of young WR's. I think they need defensive help in several spots and offensive line help more. The team is such a mess right now they need more help than they could ever get in one offseason, but maybe a trade for more picks would help them fill some of those holes.
