WP contact form plugin that will alllow partial completion?

I'm looking for a solution for a WP contact form plugin that will allow submission of the form without all the fields being filled in. I want to be able to set some required fields, but past that, on a lengthy form, I want people to be able to fill in what they want.

I tried Contact Form 7, but if it will allow that, I am fucking it up somehow.

Any suggestions?

Contact Form 7 required is a *

Your Name (required)
[text* your-name]

Your Name (not required)
[text your-name]

Sweet! Let me try that, and see if it helps.

No, I checked, and that is what I was using. I don't get it. I have two forms, one short, and one long. The short one has a text area that is not a required field. I can fill out the required fields on that page, and nothing else, with a successful submission.

The page with the long form has 2 required fields. To try to do less than filling out the entire thing gives me yellow border error with the message: "Validation errors occurred. Please confirm the fields and submit it again."

Maybe I'll try breaking the form down bit by bit on a different page, and see where it starts to fail on submit.

I use gravity forms. I dont know what the rules for submissions are though. But its a nice plugin.

May be you can look and this drag and drop plugins: quform.com and formidablepro.com.

CF7 occasionally has issues with required fields. Try deactivating all plugins, activate CF7 first and then all the other plugins and see if it works, some people had success with that simple solution. Otherwise, try http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/si-contact-form/ , works like a charm although it's a bit rigid in terms of layout compared to CF7 (unless you know some advanced CSS)

gravityforms allows you to select required for the field, so you can pick what needs to be added.

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure what the problem was, but un/re installing it worked. I looked at gravity forms. I use Genesis, so I may give that a try since Studio Press endorses it.
