Having been in the Army for 12 years and having fought in the first gulf war and knowing that it is an old soldiers toast I make the toast. My Grandfather was a career soldier, my real Dad was a career soldier, the man that raised me after my fathers death was a career soldier, I spent 12 years as a soldier and would have been a career soldier if I had not been injured in the first gulf war.
