Will North Korea Attack the USA?

I just seen this article when I signed on, who here thinks North Korea is actually going to follow through with this, and if by chance they do... What do you think will happen?

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...n-america.html

Quote:

NORTH Korea led by tyrant Kim Jong-un has sensationally vowed to launch a NUCLEAR attack on the USA.
The provocative statement comes weeks after the country conducted underground nuclear tests which caused a massive earthquake.

America?s west coast cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco are feared to be in Kim?s sights.

A foreign ministry spokesman said: "Since the United States is about to ignite a nuclear war, we will be exercising our right to pre-emptive nuclear attack against the headquarters of the aggressor in order to protect our supreme interest."

The UN today has voted implement its toughest restrictions yet on North Korea in a bid to halt its nuclear ambitions.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said: "The international community will not tolerate its pursuit of nuclear weapons."

The announcement comes on the day North Korea launched a chilling new propaganda film via its official Youtube channel.

The footage shows missiles, armed soldiers, tanks and military parades.

The UN sanctions imposed today include a list of luxury items the country's rulers will be banned from importing.

"These sanctions will bite and bite hard,? said US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice.

She added: "North Korea will achieve nothing by continued threats and provocations. These will only further isolate the country and its people and undermine international efforts to promote peace and stability in northeast Asia."

The nuke warning from North Korea was put out by the country's official news agency and accused the US of leading the calls for the crippling sanctions.

lol he can't even get those things across his own border

alex.missyouth 03-07-2013 09:59 AM

I think they won't. Retaliation could easily destroy their whole country.

seeandsee 03-07-2013 10:01 AM

yeah right, they have FULL POWER there, people cant do the shit, why would they fight with anyone, it's their private KINGDOM, they are not stupid, but i guess people there are very stupid :)

And NUKE warnings and all the shit is just their stupid propaganda, and they use it just to prevent any posible attack again on their country, and SK knows that, they would be nuked by NK and they dont need that. Also NK cant hit America with nukes

No - They're not that stupid.
do you really think the usa will win every battle/war?

L-Pink 03-07-2013 10:05 AM

Very good chance they will launch with the US as intended target. 99% chance some other country gets nailed instead.

.

brassmonkey 03-07-2013 10:07 AM

North Korea will never attempt an outright attack on the US, for the same reason Iran will never attempt an all-out attack on the US.

Neither scenario will EVER happen, but that fact won't stop TRILLIONS of US dollars from being squandered and wasted by the war-profiteering fear-mongering fuckjobs that rule over us.

Pathetic.

TheLegacy 03-07-2013 10:18 AM

They like to cry and make threats - but in the end USA can stop anything coming towards them and definitely can level their country if needed. Neither side will do that. It's bullying politics and eventually it will make them look like that dog that is all bark and no bite.

i'll start stocking up on marshmallows

Antonio 03-07-2013 10:30 AM

Didn't the Japs try that a few decades ago? It didn't work too well for them as far as I remember

anexsia 03-07-2013 10:33 AM

North Korea just likes to throw little temper tantrums whenever they're not getting any attention from the world. Their nuclear tests haven't really done to well.

Brent 3dSexCash 03-07-2013 10:53 AM

Maybe we should just do a pre preemptive strike on their pre preemptive strike threat and level the country now and be done with it.

Some cultures you just need to hit the reset switch on imo

dancent 03-07-2013 11:23 AM

They dont have ballz for attack :).

Rochard 03-07-2013 11:24 AM

North Korea cracks me up. They beat their fists on their chests as if they have anything at all to proud of. The reason anyone paid them any attention is because they had China on their side; This seems to have changed because China is now co-sponsoring sanctions against Norther Korea in the UN. China isn't stupid - they don't want a nuclear war going on in the country next to them.

In the mean time, North Korea can't even turn on the lights....

Do you really think it would be the US going at it alone if NK actually attacked the US or SK? If by some remote chance NK actually did attack the US it would be a NATO retaliation.

Besides that NK isn't the problem, the issue is SK, because any war waged on NK would cause a lot of destruction in SK and that's the biggest reason no one has laid the bitch slap down on NK.

_Richard_ 03-07-2013 02:18 PM

difficult question.. would attacking south korea be an attack on the US? If so, yes. If not, no

The US has about thirty thousand troops in South Korea, and I would guess half of them are near the border. So pretty much... Yeah.

georgeyw 03-07-2013 02:37 PM

More like the US media monster will churn out BS about NK attacking them so that they garner support for buying more arms to fill the pockets of the guys who own the weapons companys who inturn *donate* when the campaign starts...

NaughtyRob 03-07-2013 03:11 PM

Would be the biggest mistake they ever made if they tried anything.

As I stated in another post, "attack" does not mean a full out war anymore. "Attack" can simply meaning knocking down one of our buildings, and you've all seen the chaos that caused. It could come in many forms where a gun or missle would never have to be shot.

Its not just in the sun its on the BBC news and reuters

They sure are pushing their luck though

"North Korea will achieve nothing by continued threats and provocations. These will only further isolate the country and its people

President Barack Obama's administration said it had reassured South Korea and Japan "at the highest levels" of its commitment to deterrence, through the U.S. nuclear umbrella and missile defence, in the face of the new threats.

Glyn Davies, the State Department's point man for North Korea, also said in testimony prepared for a Senate hearing that Washington will not accept North Korea as a nuclear state.

Russia's U.N. Ambassador Vitaly Churkin called for restraint and an end to the threats. "Let's keep our minds cool and keep focused on the need for the only possible rational course of action, and that is returning to six-party talks," he said.

North Korea, which held a mass military rally in Pyongyang on Thursday in support of its recent threats, has protested against the U.N. censures of its rocket launches. It says they are part of a peaceful space program and that the criticism is an exercise of double standards by the United States.

The North's shrill rhetoric, however, rarely goes beyond just that. Its last armed aggression against the South in 2010 came unannounced, bombing a South Korean island and killing two civilians. It was also accused of sinking a South Korean navy ship earlier in the year, killing 46 sailors.

North Korea was conducting a series of military drills and getting ready for state-wide war practice of an unusual scale, South Korea's defence ministry said earlier.

South Korea and the United States, which are conducting annual military drills until the end of April, are watching the North's activities for signs that they might turn from an exercise to an actual attack, said South Korea's defence ministry spokesman Kim Min-seok.

Kim declined to confirm news reports that the North has imposed no-fly zones off its coasts in a possible move to fire missiles, but he said any flight ban limited to near the coast would not be for weapons with meaningful ranges.

South Korea's military said in a rare warning on Wednesday that it would strike back at the North and target its leadership if Pyongyang launched an attack.

shake 03-07-2013 05:23 PM

I think they just want the attention, and probably won't do anything. It would be the end of NK pretty quick if they did that's for sure.

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-07-2013 05:27 PM

North Korea is interchangeable with China as far as your question goes.

I'm assuming you haven't looked at pretty much every news site today? Its on the frontpage of every one of them.. But good job attacking the source instead of looking around. :zzwhip

If they do I am sure Dennis Rodman would be warned

These statements were intended for the people of North Korea and not directed at the US. Everyone remember Baghdad Bob, Saddam's media guy? They were being steamrolled, yet he went on Iraqi TV and claimed they were pushing the invading forces back.

This sort of stuff is put out to keep the locals calm. North Koreans supposedly don't have contact with the outside world, but I'm sure some people do and that rumors develop from that information and spread. Thus forcing the NK government to state they would do a preemptive strike.

just a punk 03-08-2013 12:03 AM

Personally I'm not sure, because:
1) Yes, they ARE that stupid.
2) They have no missiles to deliver the nuke to the US.

They are really crazy and desperate guys. Their ideology is a pure sect across the whole country. So potentially they can go for anything, but practically the can do nothing, because their army/weapon is in the middle of 20th century.

I get this feeling too. New Kim then commissions China to make B-movie grade footage of Manhattan getting nuked, shows it on state-run television, and bingo....New Kim is now a God surpassing any previous leader..and doesn't have to prove a damned thing.

US policy should be that of massive retaliation in the event of a North Korean nuclear attack. North Korea should understand that such an attack will result in their total annihilation.
