And don't even PRETEND you are in the top 1% bracket. YOU are NOT!

If you think this is acceptable, then you are TOTALLY DELUSIONAL.

America is being robbed, and everyone is just whistling dixie...

seriously....good for the 1%. I don't need to be a 1% billionaire. I just want my piece of the pie....

Russian has the most billionaires, and a lot more people in poverty then America. Why not talk about Russia?

Every country is like this....There are a small amount of very rich people, a little bit more semi rich people. A decent amount of middle class, and a shitload of people with nothing. Its been like that forever. The only thing that makes it worse is public assistance..

1) Complain
2) Revolt
3) Rise up

I don't have to think too hard about that one.

The middle class is shrinking in the name of higher productivity. That's a fact. However from my POV in a capitalist system there isn't much that can be done about it.

Play the rules and become part of the 0.1 % I guess.

The middle class is shrinking, the rich are growing. There are a lot more millionaires now then there used to be.

Work hard, make money, be happy. The problem now is that with media, everyone knows what everyone else has. Everyone knows what kin of cars celebs drive, what charity events wealthy people are attending, how mich people are spending. Before the internet no one knew. Now there are jealous people, haters etc... People see more of it an want it and are not content with what they have. Even if it is enough to have a good life.

But there are many other countries where the division of rich a d poor is much greater then the USA

bronco67 03-05-2013 11:44 AM

There's nothing wrong with being richer than everyone else...but most of the time that wealth is gained at the expense of the rest of us. Some fuckers got filthy rich from the credit default swap debacle and look at all of the lives affected by it. Even if your house wasn't foreclosed on, it still affected you in some way. No one is in jail for basically raping our economy because they've stacked the odds in their favor.

When I say rich, I'm not talking about millionaires --- I mean people who move around numbers and gamble to make their fortunes. No one should be demonizing a Bill Gates, or Apple, or some tech guy who got rich with his internet startup. It's just those scum like the Koch brothers and the Mitt Romneys who are the problem.

Russia doesn't have the most billionaires. Far from it actually.

If you aren't making enough money to create your own happiness, it's not their fault... Or anyone elses for that matter.

Lots of people who work hard and play by the rules got fucked by the financial meltdown.

Who's fault was that?

Note: That was a rhetorical question, I know who you will blame.

you mean all the people who lost everything because they had all their investments in one thing and relied on other peoples decisions, speculation and work where they had zero control over the outcome?

That was a rhetorical question, I know who you will blame.

Not everybody is cut out to start and run their own business. Different people have different skill sets and traditionally they've done best in life by doing what they do best for a living... even if that means working for someone else.

Until rather recently that system worked quite well for everybody involved including the nation as a whole.

Now, not so much.

thats what I see.
You see a CEO making $10million a year, but you dont see the decades he spent studying and perfecting his skills, staying home all weekend when his friends are going out and partying, him clawing his way up the ladder to make it.

Noone snaps their fingers and they're born with talent, they have to work to make it happen.
I see so many poor people that are so fucking lazy, doing nothing but spreading their legs and having more babies, why do I have to work so they get my money?

Typical stupid retorq: prove that what you say is not exact ( similar to the USA asking Iraq to prove they had no WMD)...

Why don't you back up your supposed facts ??????

Sorry, its #2 or #3. I think China and US are either 1 or 2, or one of the other ways around. So they are up there. They also have extreme poverty. Even compared to American Standards. And there is no public assistance like there is in the US.

#2 on this list

Not where you get the 'Far From It' statement from....

Far from being #1(With the US having 4.5x as many billionaires). China's closing in and looking to surpass Russia sometime this year. The US will also continue to grow at a more rapid rate than anyone else on that list.

Oh grow the fuck up. Another asshole patting himself on the back for having a job, imagining millions of people living high on the hog on his dime. It's bullshit, but it makes people feel like heroes just for going to work. And it's a myth spread far & wide by the very richest in society. They WANT you to resent the poor. Don't be such a rube.

Turn off Limbaugh.

That's right. And not everybody wants to pursue wealth. What if someone wants to be a teacher? That takes quite a bit of education and patients. And who could argue that that isn't an important job; one that not everyone can do. Are they to BLAME because they didn't set out to get rich by whatever means necessary?

What about an EMT? When you're bleeding on the road, would you rather have a hedge fund manager be the first person you see?

Neither of those jobs pay much, but both are occupations that contribute more to society than 100 Wall Street douchebags pushing paper and moving money.

Our priorities are all fucked up. Our system is geared by the rich for the rich (they're certainly not going to set it up any other way). The good news is we all get to participate in this society to make it fairer, happier and more peaceful. The bad news is far too few people realize it. We don't need to pick up guns to start a revolution. A phone will do.

Millions don't have enough to have a good life, and that's because our system is fucked up. The decent paying jobs that once would have sustained them are gone in the name of bigger corporate profits, and our tax laws are extremely complicated so that the richest people in the world can write off their yachts.
