This board I have been on lately is god damned fucking stupid and greedy and ignorant and the layout is stupid and it's almost impossible to find what you need out of a thread and the thread structure is stupid and I've had enough

Plus- they're making millions and that isn't enough, they want to charge for a private message and limit daily posts. They remind me of the government.

The only good thing I can say is that even though I call the moderators morons fairly often they haven't banned me, yet. They do delete posts all of the time which are pertinent to the discussion and I think that's a felony depending on what their intent is (it's a stock forum).

I would give head to a 500lb woman to be able to start a better forum and wipe them off the face of hell

I've started a few successful message boards over the years. Hard to get a good one going these days, though.

Look it at what the mod said to me!! This was after I told a guy to be careful shorting this stock at a low PPS, since it's already trading at its usual lows... I'm sure he thought some of my questions about this stock were stupid because I'm new to trading. But after he told me I could only talk about this stock, I adhered to that... Then he thinks my post about the guy shorting this particular stock was off topic and says this to me:

when JL said he would average up, he just meant his cost basis was lower than the current price per share, and yet he was willing to add more at a higher price.

your comments are almost always off topic and getting extremely tiresome.

i tried to warn you basic stock questions belong on a "newbie" board. i sent you links to those forums, but you persist in asking your stupid questions on

Maybe I am stupid for thinking he meant he was shorting when he said he was averaging up- but how in the world was I supposed to know the guys cost basis was lower than the current pps? :mad:

When he told me I could not ask general questions, from then on I tried to be sure I only talked about the specific stock. Like say asking why people think this or that is happening or if anyone knew the OS for today, etc. . so how was I going to know he hated my posts so much?

PS: Other people on there ask questions about this stock or give advice about this stock constantly. My post warning the guy not to short at this pps wasn't off topic if you ask me

I've set a PHPBB forum before and it ran great but chinese spammers took it over ... I'm pretty sure I'd want to use VB and be able to set it up, but driving traffic to it would be a real whore- especially at first :( Especially without a marketing budget :(

Forums are a heap of work and definitely do not provide much in the way of monetary gain (for the most part).

I wouldn't bother ever starting another forum personally. They are like a nagging child that never ever grows up and learns to fend for themself.

I bet that if you got to show ads for all of the major brokerages you'd think differently :winkwink:

My thread title ties into my thread in that I was asking because I think someone should wipe the forum I am talking about off of the face of all hell

First you need to setup a forum that would attract them. THAT is the part that is extremely tough, especially when there are numerous sites that have been around for many many years.

If you think you can do it, by all means, go for it. I seriously doubt you will bear the type of fruit you are envisaging though :2 cents: Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Tip of the day - you can get a forum off the ground very quickly by giving something away.

You absolutely DON'T want to use vB if you're starting a forum. That software is a pile of shit and the company just killed itself with vB5
