There are perhaps 5 members of this board who post regularly with perfect or near-perfect spelling, grammar, or punctuation. I don't know how Americans can be so egotistical with an educational system where more kids are shot by fellow students each year than could write a term paper that year free of misspellings, grammatical errors, punctuation errors, and so on.

boldy 02-21-2003 03:09 PM

looks like Dutch to me :arcadefre

archer 02-21-2003 03:10 PM

u can't expect anything of an educational system that praises 'ebonics' or that the 'nite, lite, labor, favor etc' are all proper word spellings.

and of course what u expect of people who think pop is spelled 'soda':1orglaugh

Thank you for noticing. I thought no one appreciated or noticed my impeccable writing skillz.

Juggernaut 02-21-2003 08:32 PM

Spelling is important... the only thing that bothers me is when someone types "your" when they mean "you're" and visa versa - Spelling lesson: when you want to shorten your sentence when trying you say "you are", it's "you're" not "your". :)

how about their, there, they're or to, too, two or buy, by, bye, bi

oh, and Archer, labor and favor are the proper spellings of those words and pop is spelled dad, not soda.

Anyone that might be reading your otherwise seemingly intelligent comments. It kind of detracts from things when one can not even use the proper word, but instead substitutes a word that just sounds the same.

tsk tsk baddog....

it's labour not labor
its' favour not favor

americans forget the 'u'

the real test of english grammer nowadays is knowing the difference between who and whom and when to use them.
