Anyone in Ottawa know where to purchase an all in one workout machine?

exspamr 02-21-2003 09:43 AM

i have a bowflex and its a pretty good machine... i wouldnt reccommend getting all the attachments, the only one thats worth a damn is the lat pulldown extension

Me, you, a few bottles of wine and a few hours a day.

Plus I'm free!

Do you use yours regularly?
I'm thinking of purchasing an all in one machine but don't know where to go for the best prices.

Okay - we shoot the lot, split the content down the middle and then go have dinner?

How's that? :)

I've always liked the look of the Total Gym. Anyone got one of those?

Vox 02-21-2003 10:52 AM

http://www.fitnessdepot.ca there is one in Ottawa.

Can't recommend one, since I only use free weights.

Tala 02-21-2003 11:05 AM

I want a bowflex. *pout*

Right now I'm not using any sort of machine, I'm using a pool to give water resistance. It's working wonderfully well. :)

Nautilus isn't a store, it's a gym, and they have locations in the Ottawa region. http://www.nautilusplus.com/

(I'm just full of useless knowledge today)

Warden 02-21-2003 12:31 PM

If you're gonna do, do it right and buy a smith machine. That is of course you're willing to spend the money and have the room for one. Something like this one would do nicely.

Pipecrew 02-21-2003 12:55 PM

apparently if you know a member you can try out the gym for like 10 bucks, but its cheaper to just signup in the long run!

Are you serious? !!!! Thats a great price! I was looking @ Cartier Place gym and it's $260 for 3 months *includes pool, sauna and something else, don't remember* LOL

The place you're talking about is right across *under ground* that restaurant in rideau? I always pass by it but never looked in :D

With a monthly membership does that include everything *like excercise classes etc...*?

goBigtime 02-21-2003 01:02 PM

Get a bowflex. After the second week when you stop using it will fold up nicely and fit in a closet.

The girls have it great at goodlife...... If you dont like guys looking at you while you work out, you have your own private section with all kinds of cool shit.. The gym i go to is the one at Roydon Place, its up on Huntclub where I am close too. Its pretty sweet, Only about 2 months old

and tell the old man to make me some free graphics because he is going to reap the benefits of my advice!!!

Carrie 02-21-2003 03:39 PM

I'm sure they won't mind you working out in a thong and belly top, as long as you don't mind women who are ten times more fit than you showing you up in a full t-shirt and shorts.

galleryseek 02-21-2003 03:44 PM

yeah working out at a gym is so much better.

1. you learn the proper forms / exercises from other people
2. the enviroment it's self along with the people makes you work out harder.
3. more equipment than you'll ever have.
4. less expensive
5. meet new people / training partners.

Definately agree. It becomes a hastle to work out at home after a while. Going to the gym gets me out of the house. Plus its always fun to watch people like Takacs work out.

Snake Doctor 02-21-2003 11:59 PM

I just bought one of those CrossBow gyms. Its Weider's spinoff of the bowflex. (Only cost about half as much as the bowflex)

Once it gets here and I put it together I'll let ya know if its any good.

FlyingIguana 02-22-2003 01:11 AM

i think bowflex would be a great option for a home gym.

EscortBiz 02-22-2003 01:15 AM

go to a gym

I hate machines. Free weights are the only way to go :) Only thing I'll use a machine for is lat pulls and maybe some triceps.
