Well This Just Sucks!
I just heard on CNN that retail gas prices are up 56 cents a gallon this year. (U.S)
BUT - the wholesale price is only up 14 cents, and that is because of the labor strikes in Venezuela. So is it our local gas stations that are ripping everyone off, their local distributors? Someone is taking serious advantage of the situation aren't they? Guess we can't blame Bush for this one though can we? :( |
Someone is laughing his or her ass to the bank....
I'm just glad it is not over $2.00 (YET) |
whats the taxes on gas thats added into the price?
|
yep getting raped in the ass on these gas prices

FUCK BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I don't remember the exact figures but the actual wholesale on gas is cheap as hell in comparison. There is a huge ass markup from the transporter and usually a very small markup from the gas station. Stores don't make big money on gas, they just use it to get you in the door. I have seen stations mark up fuel from between 1 cent and 6 cents a gallon. The transporter has a much higher markup.

I pay 1,12 euro per litre (4 litre in 1 gallon?)
That sucks! |

I heard between 10 and 20 cents per gallon on CNBC once unless I was on drugs... |

I've heard 10 cents a gallon markup at the punp here - so you must be right - the transporters / distributors must be the bastards taking advantage of us. A station in Columbus Ohio raised their prices a DOLLAR a gallon the night of Sept.11 - three days later the people there raised so much hell with them they closed their doors. :thumbsup |

Not sure if this holds true all the time but one transport company he spoke with buys the gas from the refinery and sells it themselves to the stations. The truck driver alone kept a larger cut that I would have ever figured. Shreveport, Louisiana here by the way. |
