Need metal workers in vegas??

I need some one to install/build/order and install something like this

http://www.drunkdollars.com/personal/rail.jpg

The total is about 30 foot of rail with 2 angles and 3 flat parts.

Anyone got any ideas?

I called every metal work place in the vegas yellow pages and they all seem to busy working on casinos or clubs

Just the railing and in stainless steel or some brushed metal

Do you live here in Vegas too!? There is a possibility that I might know somebody that could do this. Mail me!

I dont think you would need a metal worker to do that.

Probably just a general contractor.

Torn Rose 02-21-2003 08:49 AM

I agree with Muff, ask a general contractor.

Weird tho, I just saw Bob Villa (spell?) a few days ago and they was installing something VERY close to this and the price was INCREDIBLEY high.

Good luck, looks awsome

I agree but I met with a Contractor out there this week and he had no idea what I was talking about . So contractor/metal worker :)

Sorry mate :( If you were in my hometown in the UK I could set you up today with a family friend who does this kind of stuff.

I'm thinking your best bet might be to get one of those off-the-shelf modular railing systems and then pay a machine shop to customise it for you.

drunkdollars 02-21-2003 10:08 AM

Ive been looking at exactly that

http://www.cablerail.com/html/photos.html

Has some pre fabricated stuff. Just hard to get pricing from them

vicki 02-21-2003 10:20 AM

I think perhaps you might be underestimating things a bit....
You'll need:
Stair stringers (heavy gauge flat iron - you don't want them sagging with weight burdens)
Base Brace (also heavy gauge flat iron)
Steel step braces (metal under the wooden steps)
Plus your handrailing and flat bracing iron
Its hard to tell from the photo but those could be threaded end rods as the spacers .. Whatever they are they cannot be lightweight aluminum due to building code regulations.

Even though it looks like a simple design, it?s a very costly endeavor
Too bad you aren't in Texas, I know just the person to pull that project off!

If you wanted it done at a cheap price and good quality gimme a email. My dad has a Steel company, but the only thing would be the shipping :)

from Canada

vicki 02-21-2003 02:39 PM

LOL

well I only know what it needs because I worked as an estimator for a general contracor for years plus my hubby just happens to be one of the highest qualified welders in the US

now if I could only get someone to fix the toilet flusher thingy i'd be good ;)

Would they make it from scratch or use some pre fab stuff?

lightswitch 02-21-2003 11:23 PM

you need a general contractor who does remodels, Any metal shop will make the parts for them, & then the contractor will do the installation.

picpile 02-21-2003 11:39 PM

one guy listed here

http://www.lasvegasnewspapers.com/db...vice&class=355

does metal gates, he might be able to do it.

Not a bad idea... Vegas is a cool place...weather is nice - tax free is the way to be.... far superior to ny, fer sure.

Drivers are horrible, and so is the auto insurance. Lots of damned mexicans here, but if you like the latinas, you're set. Not a bad place to live.

digihax 02-22-2003 06:17 PM

That would look soooo.. sweet in my place I might have to look into having something like that built myself.. :thumbsup

jhen 02-23-2003 03:11 AM

I am not sure if he does contracting for homes.........but Jeff Pursley who builds many booths for Internext is amazing.

I would bet he could do it or would have one of his crew who can.
