Control my PC from afar
 

let's say i live in chyna and want to control my pc from canada and turn on my icq to talk.

how do i do that ?

what programs do i use ? pcanywhere ?

The difference is the PCanywhere will onyl work from a computer that has PCanywhere installed on it. If you can live with that it is the best solution.

PCAnywhere is utter, bloated garbage... use either VNC, which works on near any computer platform, or Remote Desktop (Win XP)/NetMeeting, which is faster than VNC a bit, but only centric to Windows machines..

yeah this one is cool.... have used it at multple sites... really is excellent... also has a mac version which allows us to control the imac which is our stereo system in the studio from any of our win pc workstations

VNC is free, VNC is great, VNC is cross platform but VNC is wide open to hacking.

true, but for casual use is fine... probably nothing mission-critical or worth being monitored by the feds going to be going on (i hope..?)... radmis indeed much more secure, but not free like VNC derivatives..

VNC is the best (TightVNC!); Google it.
