The Jem arrived.
 

And it is gorgeous. It sounds and plays as good as it looks. Thankyou's to the guys that gave it a good recommendation.

I'm so insanely jealous right now. Wow.

I have to give credit to Ibanez. They really built one hell of an instrument. The attention to detail and craftsmenship is as good as I have ever seen. It's a couple of full steps up from my Jeff Beck sig Strat on every level. I tried the bar on the Ibanez and no matter how you use it, it stays in tune. The Strat doesn't. The ibanez has the power edge of the Les Paul with the better playability of the Strat.

is that a strat thing? i notice mine goes out of tune easily with that as well.. not that i use the bar that often but still heh..

nice axe though ;) I want to grab an archtop sometime soon.

It is a fender thing. After all the decades of them making guitars they never have spent a penny on upgrading their system. It's all stamped metal where the Ibanez is machined, and machined very nicely. Watch some Vai videos and you can see how aggressive he is on it and the guitar just stays in tune. If he hammered a Strat that hard he would be changing strings every hour.
