Women shot in Calif. manhunt will to get new truck
A mother and daughter newspaper delivery team who were mistakenly shot by Los Angeles police hunting for a fugitive former cop will get a new pickup truck courtesy of the department.
LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith says the department's Chief Charlie Beck met with the women in their Torrance home Saturday to apologize and tell them he had arranged for someone to donate a new pickup truck. The truck will be donated early this week, Smith said. The women were accidentally struck by gunfire in the pre-dawn hours Thursday after it was reported that Christopher Dorner was sighted in the area. Beck called it a case of mistaken identity. Dorner has vowed to avenge his firing from the department, which he wrote in an online manifesto was retaliation for reporting officer violence. full article... |

I can't believe LAPD was so stupid and did this.
These women should get millions. |
I hope they don't sign anything that comes with this new free truck. You just know LAPD is trying to avoid a 100 million lawsuit.

They deserve millions. It woke me out of bed and was at least 30 shots, all from the cops, all without return fire obviously. No questions asked. it sounded like the shoot out at the OK fucking Corral. Ridiculous they did that with no provocation. :2 cents:

You can't fix stupid and the LAPD is the epitome of stupid dating back to the Rodney King case, the botch handling of the OJ Simpson case. The LAPD is the poster child of Stupidity.
Hope the girls get millions and millions of dollars |
They will settle with them out of court and very quickly I would think

The other dude they shot the fuck out of is also posturing for a lawsuit. Sadly it will be tax payers that end up flipping the bill at the end, but LAPD needs to have their asses sued off.
Perhaps some heads will roll.. |

Could cops maybe wait until they see a threat before they actually start blasting away?
