I have been reduced to whoring cheap laptops.....

My neighbor buys and sells sells 'refurbished' laptops and I am helping him sell them.

I have to set up - I can hardly bring myself to say it - an EBay 'shop'.

What have I become :Oh crap?

1. Buy a minivan
2. Pull up to stoplight
3. Slide open door and sell laptop to driver next to you
4. Speed away when light turns green before driver realizes OS is in Japanese
5. Head to nearest Taco Bell for celebratory burrito

How much would that be?

lol - They actually are legit - He buys them in bulk from companies that are upgrading for amazing prices actually - A few bucks each.

He then cannibalizes them to make a usable system.

Its actually not a bad earner - He just has no idea about selling and has literally hundreds of them in his basement.

Its surprisingly hard to think of things to do with 100's of laptops. You would think a geek like me would be in heaven.....

Hmm... tell me more...

One thing that kinda scares me about this is that you say he buys them from companies that upgrade their systems, which would make me think the computers are at least a few years old. What kind of specs are we talkin ???

These are older systems for sure - Most are i3 + 2gb ram + 250gb HDs etc or similar...

A good second computer for the kids - That sort of thing....

I am putting together a list - Its a long job.

I just bought a laptop for $10 that had some busted keys on it.. it's only about 3-4 years old.. spent $10 on ebay for a new replacement keyboard.. amazing that I now have a backup laptop for $20 lol..
