Piracy irony
The Pirate Bay documentary comes out today. The guy that made the film had a page up yesterday telling people where they can download it from. He said to feel free to download it and share it with your friends etc, but don't try to resell it or make money using it.
It struck me funny that the people he made the movie about make money by supplying access to other people's work, yet he doesn't want you to do that to his. |
Not surprised, people are fucking hypocrites.

sounds like our government.....do as i say, not as i do.

Are you really black? I don't believe you. The analogy you've come up with is woefully irrelevant. What happened with this was that a pimp GOT pimped, but not out. :1orglaugh |
OK wait. He doesn't want people making money on it. He wants people to trade it around. How is that different then what he was already doing?

From what I understand (and I'm not expert, just going off some of the stuff I have read) he got money from the TPB guys and they helped him raise money for the movie. They also agreed to give him access and help him make the money, so long as they had some say in the distribution. So the TPB makes money by giving people access to other people's copyrighted works and telling people how to use torrents. This guy is affiliated with them and now that he has a work that he would like to make money with he doesn't want you doing exactly what TPB has been doing all along. |
The irony spans across multiple levels. One of them being the delusion that he's created something people could use for profit.

people pirate stuff because they want something for nothing
then you have these douchebags who try and justify it so they can sleep at night. id respect them more if they just said: "look, i only have so much money, but i want microsoft office elite 5012. and its much easier to download it than to pay whats asked by the people who made it. i am stealing it from those who spent many hours creating it" but nope, its all a conspiracy and the little man is suffering and such. |

I think my favorite excuse is when someone says, "But I wouldn't have bought it to begin with." Fine. If you would have never bought it that is one thing, the person who created gets nothing from you. But it doesn't change the fact that when you download it you now own it and the person who created it still has nothing from you. |
