FlyingIguana 02-20-2003 03:52 PM

damn it, i wanted the bulls to pull off a rose and marshall deal for allen and change. :(

Shooter 02-20-2003 03:54 PM

Bucks now have Payton and Cassell at point now, something else is up yet

TDF 02-20-2003 03:54 PM

milwaukee came out big time with this deal..not only do they geta very strong and potent backcourt but now they can finally let Sam I Am go...

FlyingIguana 02-20-2003 03:57 PM

payton is a free agent at the end of the year. so if they dumped cassell they'd have to sign someone or bring back payton. maybe they're gonna go after kidd next year?

rooster 02-20-2003 03:57 PM

Im not convinced it was so good for the bucks. I wish they could have gotten a power forward for allen. They will basically be stuck in the same situation with no front court game.

Shooter 02-20-2003 03:58 PM

Sonics also traded Kenny Anderson for Elden Campbell, not sure who they're planning on playing point the rest of the year.

jreaka 02-20-2003 03:59 PM

What are the odds of Payton staying in Milwaukee after this year?

"The speculation is that the Knicks are completing a deal with the Bucks that could include Sam Cassell and Joel Przybilla going to New York and Latrell Sprewell coming to his hometown of Milwaukee. "

I don't see him listed on their roster (ESPN), did they just pick him up? I'm more of a college fan so I don't really keep up with rosters

i forgot, they traded him to memphis around the beginning of the season..I guess they are fucked in the point guard position..

nocostporn 02-20-2003 04:07 PM

bad move on the Bucks part...All I can say on that... Supersonics have got one of the most athletic teams in the league now.. Let Brent Berry run the point, fuck it

That makes alot more sense now.........Sam has to be on his way out. I am a HUGE bucks fan. Still wish they could have gotten some sort of presence in the middle..............

Yeah he should do aight,Bucks are built just like the Sonics...Big athletic forwards, thats what made Payton-Payton

They didn't increase their playoffs standings though...Payton isnt THAT much better than Ray

PersianKitty 02-20-2003 04:16 PM

traffictrader 02-20-2003 05:08 PM

VERY high, Karl is his choice of coach and buddy

vaqrook 02-20-2003 05:20 PM

I'm just glad they left the Pacers out of the fold , read a few places they was wanting to make it a 3 team thing, But the Pacers GM said that was not true. But Last year he also said Rose was not going to be traded.

Two superstars who hadn't taken care of business and needed a change of scenery. But the Bucks get D. Mason in addition to Payton, and have just become the most talented team in the East.

PersianKitty 02-20-2003 05:22 PM

Payton would of been gone after this season anyway. He's not worth the 13mil he's getting this season in my opinion.

mjrools23 02-20-2003 05:23 PM

ray allen > gary payton

gary payton+desmond mason > ray allen

JimW 02-20-2003 05:48 PM

at least Mavericks didn't do a last minute trade again this year..

Yeah I just saw the complete trade...God damn the Bucks are gonna be serious the rest of the season... Imagine if you throw Payton,Anthony Mason,Desmond Mason and Tim Thomas on the court together, you don't even need a 5 to make that a complete team :glugglug wheeeew I'm now a Bucks fan lol

Torn Rose 02-20-2003 07:17 PM

I can't belive the Bucks went from the Eastern Finals to shit so fast.

Keev 02-20-2003 08:27 PM

Ray allan is one of the most under rated players in the NBA

well yes in the respect that desmond mason and payton are better than what you got but considering the fact that you guys werent going to resign payton you got the best end of this deal because if you kept payton you would lose him at the end of the year... you got ray allen who is very good and kevin ollie for desmond mason basicly... how can you not like that?

Mutt 02-20-2003 08:41 PM

Ray Allen is soft and basically one dimensional, pure shooter - you aren't going to win any championships with a max money player like that, especially in a place like Milwaukee where no owner is ever going to go over the luxury tax threshold.

I think the deal was mostly about money - Kohl is putting the Bucks up for sale. Payton's a free agent at the end of the season.

The East is weak, anybody could win it and go to the Finals, Payton is more likely to take you there than Ray Allen.

Spreewell and Karl.............now that should be interesting. George better learn some kung fu fast!
