I once ate a large slice of a Santa Lucia Special in 31 seconds, which won me a round of free drinks for the table and a case of beer to take home.

Thing about that Santa Lucia Special is that one slice is nearly as much pizza as a whole pie from Dominos.

Yeah, those eating contests are crazy and setting bad examples. However, usually when I see those contests on youtube I think "wow how is that possible", but in this case I would say - I could do it, its not that extraordinary. Of course I would not do it, but could do it.

I totally agree, and they are becoming far more prevalent as regular social events / fundraising events, etc. An area high school here hosts a monthly competitive eating contest to raise money for different sports teams, but the people who enter it are never the athletes themselves, but the people who shouldn't be participating.
