Biz - How often do you update your NON MEMBERS websites???

Weekly?

Bi Weekly?

Monthly?

Other???

Just curious... Even if it is just to change a few words around, into a diff order... HOW OFTEN?

Most of the time wordpress with no dates showing on posts. Front page picks random posts to display.

I only start changing things around if I think something slightly different might work better and give it a few days to see.

Try not to break something that is working fine though.

what's a website

We updated our freebie site monthly with recycled original content from our paysite(s). The traffic stream dwindled eventually to the point it was more expense and effort than worthwhile...so we shut it down.

We only maintain our two member paysites these days.

Out of curiosity, how do you drive new members to your paysites? Are you doing any marketing at all or just relying on word-of-mouth?

Air drop of leaflets from low-flying aircraft over densely populated urban centres. :winkwink:

Naw, mostly link exchanges, pic posts, gallery swaps...a few other methods. BDSM/fetish niche has a loyal demographic we've been playing to since '99 - many recurring members. Word of mouth is also a consideration.

I still have a bunch of semi-old-school picture TGPs that haven't changed much in the past 5 years. They're 99% automated, including cropping and determining the best thumbs to display. I do an audit of each site every few months to make sure that everything is still working as expected (load site and click on a few links; check for dead trades), but apart from that I pretty much leave them alone.

As far as traffic goes, I use to do 100k+ per day on ONE site; now the ENTIRE network of 30+ sites does less than that. My TGPs have had a good run, I'm letting them die gracefully. The network still nets me low-mid 4 figures per year without having to do anything the majority of the time.
