CCBILL are you really this fucking cheap ?

LOL it cost more in electricity to send these emails that the 1 cent increase

Please be aware that recent U.S. Postal Service (USPS) rate increases are taking effect which will impact costs associated with mail delivery. This slight increase will be reflected starting with your next payment, beginning with any that are due to be sent and postmarked on or after February 4, 2013.

The USPS is increasing the delivery charge to $0.46 for all mailings within the United States, resulting in an increase of $0.01 applied to your transfer costs.

While even a slight increase like this can be unwelcome news,

This is funny. No harm meant in this post. I like ccbill

thousands and thousands of checks each week. 52 weeks a year that shit adds up. I get two checks a week still. Never even knew they took that out anyway

fitzmulti 01-30-2013 03:44 PM

That's minimal, considering other companies have "check processing fees" and shit like that.

Wizzo 01-30-2013 03:47 PM

I would bet they send tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of checks each week. So betting that adds up...:pimp

Relentless 01-30-2013 04:04 PM

Robert Crandall supposedly saved American Airlines $500,000 per year just by removing an olive from the salads they served during flights. As Quiet often mentioned, scale is what matters... and 1 cent X all those checks X all future years = much more money than it costs to pay someone to send out a form mail about it.

corvette 01-30-2013 04:13 PM

if they started eating all the usps increases years ago, it would have added up to a nice sum by now

and you guys would have gotten used to it by now, so if they ever went back to passing the exact rate over, you would raise hell :)

Asparaguss 01-30-2013 04:13 PM

That one penny isnt doesnt matter.

Its a bit like the guy who had the idea to only put the 'strike' on one side of a matchbox, cause you dont need it on both.

Saved a fucking fortune.

signupdamnit 01-30-2013 04:44 PM

Not that it's a big deal but they don't pay first class rates of 45 or 46 cents if you notice it's actually some sort of cheaper bulk rate that they get. I'm sure it costs them some money to process things but then again their rates aren't exactly dirt cheap either. But whatever keep the checks coming and I'll be happy.

mikesouth 01-30-2013 04:51 PM

First it doesnt cost them anything they pass the cost on to you

second it would collectively cost us a lot less if CCBILL IMPLEMENT DIRECT DEPOSIT!

jesus its 2013 already

If there was a viable alternative.......

I don't get that either. Maybe it's because Direct Deposit is traditionally free so they know adding a fee for it would be a uphill battle so there's no incentive for them to do it. I wouldn't be surprised if they made something on the wire fees right now.

BradBreakfast 01-30-2013 05:00 PM

I wouldn't mind paying a $1-$2 ACH fee... but not anything over that.

alias 01-30-2013 05:01 PM

First they came for the pennies, and you didn't say anything. Then they came for the.. .

My bank charges me $15 per wire. Why ccbill still does wires, I don't know.

CCBill raised the payout by check price by 1 percent, because the US Postal service raised their rate by 1 cent.

http://about.usps.com/news/national-...2/pr12_114.htm

which you quoted in your post. What are you complaining about? If CCBill sends 10,000 checks per week, that is a $5200.00 increase in cost per year for them. Why should they have to absorb this cost?

Bank wires are the fastest and safest way to get your money, with emphasis on safe.

If CCBill had used EPassporte and Epassporte went out of business between the time CCBill sent you a payment, and you were supposed to receive it, who would be responsible? If it were a large amount, it would jeopardize your business not to receive it, plus the legal fees required to try to recover your funds might be crippling. CCBill would have fulfilled their obligation to send the money so the legal battle would be expensive and risky to say the least.

Penny24Seven 01-30-2013 07:34 PM

I changed the mailers with my dvd sales and saved 13K the first year. Not even counting the time I saved which is worth more to me. The ones that say it is only a penny..... yup it is, only hundreds of thousands of them :)
Make your girl swallow and not cum all over the sheets which will avoid having to change and wash them 3 times a day, big savings there too

EddyTheDog 01-30-2013 08:02 PM

Another payment method would be welcome to say the least - I just don't push CCBill sites, and there are a few I would like to promote.

OK - They wont miss my few dollars, but I wonder how of us are out there?

Yeah, I found that pretty hilarious as well. Charging for a postage stamp is kind of ridiculous on top of 14 or so percent! It's a cost of doing business for god's sakes! You would think they're here in Thailand or something. LOL

bean-aid 01-31-2013 02:55 AM

Nothing wrong with charging overhead costs to the client. Now if stats worked correctly, that would be cool.

Roald 01-31-2013 03:36 AM

You guys are lucky, they added $0.05 to international deliveries ;)

Can't blame them though.

The rate increase for Every Door Direct Mail is has increased from 14.5 cents to 16 cents apiece and for Presort Standard Letter-sized Mail - the most common class of "bulk" mail is increasing on average about half a cent apiece.

everyone is in business to make money, not lose it. be it 1 penny or 1 dollar. on a large scale all those little amounts add up.

They send out checks every week. If they absorbed the cost of the postage, then they might only send out checks every month. They don't charge for envelopes and the paper from the checks. I think charging for postage is reasonable considering other companies charge a couple of bucks or more to send a check.

Sending a huge sum like they do does make a difference. It adds up!

Paying $15-$30 for wires adds up too. A lot of money being wasted there.

shake 01-31-2013 10:47 PM

Could be worse - 25 cent increase to Canada

Maybe you should look around... many companies charge you to invoice you, such as cellphone companies. Some legal firms charge a fee to send an email (on top of the charge for whatever document it might contain). Some banks charge you when you pay your bills, etc. My point is, it is perfectly normal for companies to charge for other services outside of their own. Not cool, but normal.

Yeah, 25 cent increase to north of the 49th. Obviously, the USPS intends to get out of the shitter on the backs of a "have" country.
