Nobody is for gun control

They are for funneling a majority of guns into the hands of fewer and fewer people

They are against the average citizen having a gun but want the government armed to the teeth (who are citizens like ourselves)

Anyone who has read a History book knows that nothing good happens out of this scenario

SuckOnThis 01-30-2013 01:52 PM

Anyone that has watched anything but FOX News knows its this way in 99% of other countries.

America was built by and is full of those that left those other countries. Who cares what other countries do?

If you really want gun control, then the first place you'd start is with the government

Because I keep hearing 'look at what happened in other countries where there is/was strict gun control', when the truth is just about every country on the planet has strict gun control with the exception of the US and some 3rd world countries.

If the government is shooting 8,583 people a year you need to take the guns off them

but it is the citizens killing 8,583 every year. So you need to take the guns of them.

In the US you have the freedom to have a gun.

In the UK we have the freedom not to be shot.

The government is responsible for alot more than 8,000 shootings. They are well over a few hundred millions. It's violence we need to look at. Wars overseas, guns into mexico, people locked up for smoking pot, etc.

UK has a way higher crime rate

Why look at JUST guns? Makes no sense. Look at overall crime. Rocks, hammers and knives kill more per year in the US than guns

I never met 2 of my uncles, my mothers brothers, that died fighting in peaceful Europe.

Statists are funny. Freedom not to be shot? Maybe not by your fellow citizen, but the misunderstood jackboot thugs in costume are fine, right?

Smart people do. Why should the USA be forced to do dumb things because they can't learn from others?

The UK does not have a higher homicide rate.

The UK has 1.2 homicides per 100k. The United States has 4.8 homicides per 100k. The homicide rate in the US is almost four times what it is in the UK. (source)

We need more guns because humans are bad for the environment. We need more people to shoot each other to save the planet. Perhaps we should start exporting some guns to China as well.

You know both of those statements are wrong? Guns kill about 3 Times the people all of that other stuff.
