For those who haven't been following this, here's a link for the story...Story Here

I'm thinking it's just another way to "thin the herd abit"... We have wayyyy to many dumb asses on the planet these days...so I say if they want to go and get their asses splatted all over the desert for a guy who has and will kill many of his own people... I say let them go and tell them to bring a couple of dumb ass friends with them....:)

MonkeyMan 02-20-2003 07:50 AM

kill them, kill them all

Mr.Fiction 02-20-2003 07:53 AM

Right or wrong, they're braver than 99.9% percent of the people who talk shit on this board all day, myself included. :)

MonkeyMan 02-20-2003 07:55 AM

Do not mistake stupidity for bravery.

Shit yes!

All the cowardly faggot right-wing keyboard warriors calling for the death of Iraqi's.... fucking cowards. If you want these people dead, enlist in the army and do it yourself.... spineless bitches.

At least these people are actually prepared to die for their beliefs.

You make me sick.

You could say that about soldiers too if you want. These guys know what they're getting into and they are willing to risk their lives, just like soldiers.

You don't have to agree with what they're doing, but they are risking everything for something they believe is right. You and are are arguing about it on a bulletin board. :)

You think that about our soldiers too, I guess? Or are people brave if you agree with them and stupid if you disagree, even if they do the same thing?

If they just go stand, unarmed in front of a tank, yes that would be stupid...

BTW- I have fought in the Persian Gulf, but I never stood in front of anything as a "human shield", when people were shooting at it with missles.... I can respect people's opinion that are anti-war, but do you think Sadaam gives two fucks if those people die? Not likely...

Rochard 02-20-2003 08:17 AM

From my point of view these people are going to Iraq with the intention of protecting Iraq. That makes them an enemy and fair game.

If they think this is going to stop a war they are nuts. In fact, they are just plain nuts.

With any luck while they are in Iraq they'll figure it out.

Mark 02-20-2003 08:31 AM

Dumb, misguided, naive people with very short memories or just ignorant..

Standing up for what you believe is fine, sucking up to saddam is stupid, they will either be killed defending a genocidal dictators regime or will be used as pawns in his games.. he certainly does not give a fuck about them and their actions will not help anyone that actually needs or deserves help.. absolutely the most stupid, sensless thing anyone could do..

But its a free world (except in iraq) so what the hell.. their choice..

These people understand all of that, and they are still going. They might or might not be wrong, but they are still choosing to go and put their lives at risk for something they believe in. That is almost the very definition of bravery. It is what you and your fellow soldiers did as well. Putting everything on the line for what you believed to be right.

Our enemies can be just as brave as our friends.

You might remember this man standing in front of a tank in the name of democracy:

Was he brave or stupid? I believe he was very brave.

Good point and yes he was brave, but I think your HIGHLY misguided if you think he and the idiots going to Iraq are anywhere near the same ballpark....

True.

Soldiers are mostly just morons with guns. Fresh meat for the system. Disposable.

RockDaddy 02-20-2003 08:46 AM

I think they should be charged and put on trial when everything is over if they are still alive for treason.

trea·son [ trz?n ] (plural trea·sons)
noun

1. betrayal of country: violation of the allegiance owed by a person to his or her own country, for example, by aiding an enemy.

2. treachery: betrayal or disloyalty

3. act of betrayal: an act of betrayal or disloyalty

LiveDose 02-20-2003 08:46 AM

If any of the "brave" human shields get killed just wait for all the lawsuits that will be filed by the families of the "brave" human shields...

In answer to this thread, I personally think if they get hit they are fair game. They know what they are getting into.

God Bless 'em.
I think we need the crazies on both sides of the fence. It keeps the more centerline people in place. Bravery or stupidity, I think the two go hand in hand in most cases. what separates them is, why..
All I have to say is I hope that they have their ducks in a row,, They wont be alive much longer. I wonder how long it will take Saddam to take them hostage once we start to roll over him......

OzKaNoz 02-20-2003 11:23 AM

Interesting post Wizzo.
I guess it's all in the way you look at it.

Yes, there will be lawsuits if any of these people are killed. :)

escorpio 02-20-2003 11:47 AM

Whether or not you agree with the war the actions being taken by these "human shields" is intended to interfere with military action against a declared enemy. This is treason and should be punished.:2 cents:
