Want to earn $415 an hour?

Become a lawyer in Denmark. That's what my lawyer charges and I'm about to go spend another $415 for a pre-court prep meeting.

So far I've spent more than $5000 and we haven't even hit court yet :Oh crap

Then a real pre-court meeting (2 hours + transport), then AT LEAST 2-3 court meetings.

But hey, what don't you do for your kids eh?

CurrentlySober 01-28-2013 04:30 AM

i wouldn't even get off the toilet for less than $415 an hour...

A good commercial lawyer in Australia is around $600 - $800 per hour.

It costs us $400 to get short letters written.

Well if this was something I could pay with my company, I'd not whine. But I'm paying out of my private pocket >< but I am glad I don't have to pay $800 per hour! :Oh crap

My family law attorney was $450/hr... and she was a fuckin pit bull in the court room.

I was very pleased even though it cost me a small fortune.

Yea the webmaster side (easyXsites.com) doesn't support IE while we are in beta, we figured it was better to spend time on developing features and such.

All surfer side features supports IE and we will support IE before we are out of beta :thumbsup

What is the difference between your company and your pocket? For me it doesn't make a difference, simply because if I pay 5000$ from my company, I won't see it in my dividends

Lykos 01-28-2013 07:49 AM

That's a lot man

O MARINA 01-28-2013 08:00 AM

It does make a big difference, the profit that my company makes goes into my holding company after company tax. Company tax is MUCH lower than my person tax. So I keep my private income just below the top taxation level in this country (going above would mean more than 60% of the pay goes to tax).

Anything I can run over the company = good. Anything I have to pay for in private = not so good :)

I can then use the funds in my holding company to start new ventures or pay my own salary if I ever run out of funds in either of the other companies. Or use to invest in - say - a US company if I want to move there, so I can get into the country.

Last time she won. I think I'll stick with her.

Health care is free in my country :thumbsup But I do pay a small yearly fee (about $300) so I can go to a private hospital in case I want to - but that's something extra and I never had to use it.

I also do pay a premium on my accident insurance, because I do "risky" sports - downhill mtb riding. But that's incase I get seriously injured and thus disabled, so I have some money to life off. Going to the hospital is always free. Unless it's cosmetic ofc.

I know. And it's for my 6 year old daughter. First pre-court meeting with the judge is next monday. Next is in april.

My lawyer thinks we may end up in "country court" (first step is city court, next is country court, last is supreme court). So this might take a while!
