At my gym you're not allowed to wear anything on your head unless you are religious
If you believe in ancient fairy tales then you are allowed to wear a scarf.
If you believe in ancient fairy tales then you have more rights than someone who doesn't. |
Most gyms are considered private clubs and they can make any rules that they want. You dont have to join.

Religious nuts are not allowed in my gym, nor are any other retarded dickheads that I do not like. So lesson for you is to create your own gym. You do not need all these bullshit machines to do a workout. |

I live in a secular country. I don't want rules that tell me i have less freedom than a religious person. I shouldn't even be explaining this. |

So are people then forced by this commission to join the gym also? After all, if the business owner if being forced by the government to make certain rules, then will the government force people to be customers? If someone wants to drink tea rather than coffee at the local coffee shop then they can force the business to sell tea as well? This is totally bizarre to me. I believe in the free association of adults. If I want to make a gym where the rule is that everyone must were purple socks, and no one wants to join my gym because of the rule, so be it, I will go out of business. If another gym wants to create a rule that everyone must be naked, and people do want to join it, that's their free right also. The point is that this is not a public place, it's a private business, paid for and maintained by a private person, the government should have absolutely no right to tell the owner how they can or cannot run their own private business. Are you in Canada or Europe or where? . |

What religion allows you to wear a douchey skullcap or bandana? I think those rules are to keep the meathead quotient down.
I've been a member of Planet Fitness in the past, and they don't allow and headwear, or workboots, or slamming weights and grunting like a fucking freak. They even have an alarm in the gym that goes off when someone is being a meathead. |
I could give two shits what someone was allowed to wear or not wear. I'm there to work out, and not there to critique gym fashion. You can thank the douchebags who made it so you can't wear bandanas at the gym anymore.

I remember this story from a few years ago:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...headscarf.html Sarah Desrosiers, 32, says she turned down Bushra Noah as a junior stylist to maintain the image of her salon, which specialises in "urban, funky" cuts. She told Miss Noah, 19, she needed her staff to display their hairstyles to the public. But the devout Muslim insisted that wearing her headscarf was essential to her beliefs. Miss Noah, who has been rejected for 25 different hairdressing jobs after interviews, is suing Miss Desrosiers for more than £15,000 for injury to her feelings plus an unspecified sum for lost earnings. Miss Desrosiers, who set up the Wedge salon in King's Cross, North London, 18 months ago, says she faces financial ruin if she loses the case. She denies any discrimination and insists it is an "absolutely basic" job requirement that cus-Yesterday, Miss Desrosier said: "When a potential client walks past on the street, they look into a salon at the stylists to get an impression of what haircut they are going to get there. "If an employee were wearing a baseball cap or cowboy hat I would ask them to remove it at work. "It has nothing to do with religion. But I now feel like I have been branded a racist. My name is being dragged through the mud." She went on: "This girl is suing me for more than I earn in a year. "I am a small business and have only had my salon a year and a half. If I lose this lawsuit, my business will fold." What a cunt... |
Allah bless America... I can wear whatever I want on my head at the gym and I have no religion.

It's the business owner that is the victim here, actually. .:2 cents: |
Here was the outcome to the case with the hairdresser i posted above.
£4000 for 'hurt feelings'. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...ldnt-hair.html I wonder if everyone who doesn't get a job can claim for hurt feelings... :disgust |

so as a person who is of a jewish decent, you feel that minorities shouldn't have 'legal precedent' over a majority? :) look forward to your answer |
Quote:
And your second question makes no sense. Im talking about government interference in the way a person runs their own private business. It has nothing to do minorities or majorities. Im not sure that you even understood my point at all.... . |
Sounds like you're spending too much time on r/atheist... who the fuck cares ?
|
Quote:
furthermore, my second point does make sense, you're just refusing to understand it. you are of jewish decent. there is plenty of examples of how a 'minority' would use the government to 'interfere' with the way a person would run their private business 'no dogs, blacks, or jews allowed' etc cute. |
