A Whole country into online piracy? Fucking lovely

This would really suck ass.

" around 2006 -- someone somewhere floated the idea that one way that Antigua could be made whole would be to allow it to ignore US copyright laws, allowing it to "sell" copyrighted content on the cheap, without paying any royalties. That idea took on a life of its own and Antigua began pushing the idea itself around 2007. "

The WTO ruled that they could ignore US copyrights, because the US wasn't playing fair with online gambling.

Doesn't matter if it's Kim Dotcom or a whole country, you still need to be able to process payments.

The Antigua proposal is for an online piracy site Einstein.

I completely understand that but for now hundreds of sites are doing just that.

The other issue would be they would make it easy to open a hosting company that will be allowed to ignore dmca as well. We already have enough countries doing that we dont need to add another.

That is correct and the processors adhere to the laws of the countries in which the merchant is located..........................

Figure it out.

Actually the card associations both have IP Policies which would combat this pretty quickly once rights holders started making reports according to those IP Policies.

Stick to what you know Marion.

Please do not give them any ideas.

I have more than I can handle with the gypsies doing exactly that to me.

Funny, there wasn't a problem with Antigua when the whole industry was using it for tax evasion :-D

Coming back to read this place after so long away really is good for a laugh.

You mean besides the problem of a certain, once well known webmaster that had all his accounts seized and was then booted from the country for running a network of porn sites?

Bummer for them.... I thought everyone had moved to Cyprus when the EU took off and the US had Bush and his CIA+FBI tasked with anti-porn over "terrorism". Guess "you snooze you lose".
