Boeing are screwed...

The US aviation regulator has told US airlines to temporarily ground Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, following a battery fault on one of the aircraft in Japan.
Its not the most interesting news for GFY, but its a MASSIVE blow to the US....

Mr Pheer 01-16-2013 04:58 PM

They'll fix it.

AdultEUhost 01-16-2013 04:58 PM

funny enough the battery in question is produced in Japan
by the way, every new airplane that is launched has small initial problems, airbus is no exception

Adraco 01-16-2013 05:00 PM

The pan European company Airbus had some huge flaws in its A380 (the largest civilian aircraft) some three years back. They worked out all the kinks and have been flying without incidents for three years now. I'm sure Boeing will get their shit together too!

Yup.

Boeing did a lot of new things that have not previously been done ... and with doing that comes a lot of kinks.

All new makes and models are plagued with problems. Both the maker and the airlines expect them.

Calm down - I was joking, America isn't totally fucked....

No country would be stupid enough to put huge amounts of cash into something that was a proven failure...

Sometimes its cool to be European.

JP-pornshooter 01-16-2013 06:06 PM

friend of mine works for american airlines.
they have back orders with Boeing for the next 10 years for 737's - as many as Boeing can produce.
think Boeing will be ok in the long term.

AdultEUhost 01-17-2013 01:16 AM

the lead time on a plane is +/- 4 years, so if you order one now i am sure all bugs are gone by then
