Webcam Studio in Colombia...any advice?
 

I'm looking to start a webcam studio in Colombia south america. I've done a little bit of this already in the states, very minimal.

Would I need to register a business in Colombia and pay any taxes there or can I just register in the us where I'm from?

I've worked with streammate and have done okay, are there any other cam sites that are better?

There are services there that offer to set up everything for someone wanting to set up a cam studio so I figure there aren't too many barriers to entry. The thing is these services are aimed at colombian entrepreneurs and I don't know what they would do that I can't do myself.

I already spend quite a bit of time in colombia and know alot of people as well as girls who work or have worked in the cam business.

What type of "connections" would you be referring to camboss? People in the gov't offices who register companies, and/or tax id numbers?

Colombia it is not a so safe place, but it is good for cam studios, comparatively to most other places where it is illegal (despite popular) and so unstable.
However, it also depends by the city. Is that Medellin, Bogota, Cali or else?
Each city got different pre-existing studios and gangsters/polices who may act different regarding ripping off new foreigners opening a studio.
As a cam site we got several studios in Colombia in various cities, and what I hear it is that in general, it is legal to run cam studios in Colombia. Unlike for ex. philippines or ukraine, where either to hide from police or pay bribe, if available option, but bribing it is always unstable (new police officer comes, regional police fight with local police, and so on). So if in Colombia if you pay your tax and no drug used in studio, all is ok about police.
I hear the police come to your studio door at times to make questions (include: how to have sex with your girls? You can reply: with credit card from internet), but not even enters inside (in Medellin at least - not sure of Bogota, Cali police, not heard bad stories, but this does not mean did not happened).
However, I know in some studios the cocaine is quite (ab)used also to have better and longer performance (I seen in myfreecams a girl showing "this is my cocaine" and sniffing it live), and not all studios may pay tax I guess, so they need "connections" and bribing or other unstable stuff to operate in cocaine and tax evasion regime. Plus I repeat, pre-existing studios may do sabotage, send spy-girls for you to hire to then steal your best girls later and stuff like that - I heard a lot of "studio X stole my girl" stories from Colombia, but it varies by city (and by sites, but I'm not here to tell what sites run studios in Colombia with purpose to steal girls from others lol).

cool story, but from what I've heard.. Medellin, Cartagena, Bogota and Cali are very safe to go... just know where you have to be and don't step into the bad barrios... common sense...

my guess is that it is saver than some US cities.. and I want to visit Medellin really bad! (and maybe do some coke with that MFC girl if she didn't already OD ;-)

Bogota and Medellin are not "safe" by any means. They just have areas that are safer than others. Cartagena and Cali are safe.

Carry multiple assault rifles with you at all times or you will end up dead.

I have a studio in Ibague Colombia, unlike medellin's video, it is a very safe place, much safer than many places in the USA.
I am selling the studio as I am getting into other businesses (rental, etc).

I had one only studio from Ibague, and it closed, now some its models are connecting as independent from home.

Easy, in Colombian are professionals making the job, you just order the mission.
