Exactly. It's not commercial, it's public-interest citizen journalism. It's television. Last year I got some cute little OccupyXXX videos here with a $100 digital camera and got a few thousand views on vimeo and youtube, and this time I have an HDTV camera and it goes on cable, then likely some sort of non-commercial copy-left or creative commons DVD.iso on bittorrent, with good info on how to do what we do legally, and engage in civic life in a way that keeps it legal, so we can defeat "bad" laws when they are being drafted, defeat "harmful" ballot measures when they are before the voters, and use skillful framing.
If you don't think it will fly, there is no harm in sharing the link with vocal public derision. If you like it, there is no money lost unless the whole kickstarter gets funded.
Someone else could always try to do something like this and do it better, but the fact is I am here, and what I am creating can look better with newer gear and some industry support.
