What's the number of people who never get married and have no children?

Just curious

Also what's the average age for developed countries to get married and make children?

Any sources on the topic would be highly appreciated

I had a friend of mine in high school who swore she would never have any children. Oddly enough, she went to work at Disneyworld in Florida, got married, and never kids. Now she's nearly fifty and kicking herself in the ass.

I could not imagine having kids. It changes your perspective on everything.

I dunno, not everyone's cut out to be a parent

no doubt it's amazingly rewarding for people who want to do it, all I'm saying is not everyone does

I've never had even a flicker of desire to procreate. Peeps told me I'd grow into it as I got older, things would change if I ever fell in love, blah blah blah, but both those things happened and my decision remains the same.

it's hard to quanitfy the global number of people who stay unmarried/childless cuz those are two diff sets of statistics and each vary based upon gender and nationality. In general for women, the higher the level of education she has, the fewer (to none) children she'll have.

other factors that statistically correlate with women having fewer to no children are urbanity, higher income and lack of religious belief

I like hearing parents say they couldn't imagine things any other way, though. No kid should grow up with a parent who regrets taking on that role

Kids = child support or constant attention , baby mammas yelling / bitching/ fighting / growing fat/ = mo money for you $$$

no kids don't plan on it i'll do all the whores in this world and worry about myself

btw i do think that people at some age w/o family or children = suckers and trash.
besides some groups with physical diseases, etc.

but again that should be a good family, with fair relations, morality and so on.

in case if anyone cares...

if all the educated white people stop having kids there will only be third world immigrants left having them.

I'm always stunned when I catch up with people I went to school with and they have grand-kids.

I still see them as the snot nosed brat I sat next to in math or whatever.

I would have liked kids - but there are a dozen reasons why it was a bad idea for me.

wife and kids are a time and money suck. don't let these fools convince you otherwise.

It is complicated subject. 99% of people won't tell you that they think they are fucked up, but they will try to make do the same calling you to get married or have kids. It is natural I guess. Often, my friends tell me at some point that they made a mistake getting married or you can see that clearly by seeing things started happening in their lives. Anyway,it depends on education and how much money you have actually. In primitive and poor societies, I guess that limit is 14 or 15 years in a same way as they live with few bucks per day like in India. Recently my friend married and he is now living with his mom, wife and child in 1 bedroom apartment and trying to tell me how happy is he (I never asked for opinion or his private things, of course) and that I need to get married and have kids since feeling is so special. No enough money to really support that, but he want another kid (at least he says so). Fear of loneliness is also very important factor, what I understand.

bump for some new points of view

My wife and I have made the choice to not have children, or wait until later -- and while 99% of people mind their own business while they sprout their brood into the world -- they usually don't ask us about it.

At a recent Christmas party someone asked(rare) why we don't have kids. I could have chosen a better response, but I had a few drinks so I said "as soon as your mom gives us the ok". It didn't make any sense, but made everyone laugh, except the guy who asked.

And in the end you'll be all alone. Enjoy!

By what you said, its probably better if you never have kids.
